Here Comes The King
"Here Comes the King" is a well-known advertising jingle written for Budweiser, whose slogan is "The King of Beers." Budweiser is the flagship brand of the Anheuser-Busch brewery. Copyrighted in 1971, the music and lyrics are by Steve Karmen, who also wrote six other jingles for Anheuser-Busch. The song is often heard as the theme for the brand's winter-themed TV commercials featuring the Budweiser Clydesdale horses pulling the Budweiser beer wagon. ''When You Hear Lou, You've Heard It All'' is a 1977 album by American R&B singer Lou Rawls, released on the Philadelphia International Records label. Only four tracks were produced by Gamble & Huff, with the remainder shared among other producers. The album's lead single " Lady Love", while only a moderate R&B hit, proved successful in the crossover market, becoming Rawls's last single to enter the top 30 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. ''When You Hear Lou, You've Heard It All'' peaked at No. 13 on the R&B albums chart and No. 41 pop. The title of the album is a play on the-then current Budweiser advertising slogan "When you say Budweiser, you've said it all". The Sun Devil Marching Band (SDMB), also known as ''The Pride of the Southwest'', is the athletic band of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. The Maine Stein Song is the school song of the University of Maine. Its lyrics were written by UMaine student Lincoln Colcord in 1904 and its tune was based on ''Opie'', a march written by E. A. Fenstad. It was popularized in 1930 by Rudy Vallée and became the only college song to become a number one hit. Beginnings In 1902, Adelbert W. Sprague, a sophomore at the University of Maine, discovered ''Opie'', a march written by United States Army bandmaster E. A. Fenstad, while he was playing in an orchestra in Bar Harbor, Maine. In 1904, Sprague, then a senior and the school's band leader, was preparing for a concert to be held at the University. He handed part of ''Opie'' to his roommate, Lincoln Colcord, and asked him to provide some Maine-themed lyrics for the song. "On, Wisconsin!" is the fight song of the Wisconsin Badgers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. A version with modified lyrics is the official state song of Wisconsin.
