Henry O'Leary
Henry O'Leary (May 13, 1832 – November 7, 1897) was an Irish-born businessman and political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. He represented Kent County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1873 to 1878. He was born in Castledown in County Cork, the son of Theophilus O'Leary and Ellen Power. O'Leary came to North America in 1852, settling in Richibucto three years later. He married Mary Ann Brittain. In 1859, he bought a store and a wharf there. In 1864, he purchased land nearby where he built a canning plant for lobster and salmon. O'Leary acquired additional canneries until he had at least 30 in New Brunswick and several in Prince Edward Island. He exported his products to England and the United States. George Valentine McInerney
George Valentine McInerney, (February 14, 1857 – January 12, 1908) was a lawyer and politician in New Brunswick. He represented Kent in the House of Commons of Canada from 1892 to 1900 as a Liberal-Conservative member. He was born on Valentine's Day in Kingston (later Five Rivers), the son of Owen McInerney and Mary McAuley. McInerney was educated at the College of Saint Joseph in Memramcook, Boston University and Harvard University. He was called to the bar in 1880 and became a criminal lawyer in Richibucto. He served as secretary-treasurer for Kent County from 1880 to 1900. In 1882, he married Christina, the daughter of Henry O'Leary. In 1894, he was named Queen's Counsel. McInerney also lectured at the Saint John Law School (now the law faculty of the University of New Brunswick). Louis James O'Leary
Louis James O'Leary (August 17, 1877 – July 8, 1930) was the sixth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlottetown, (which comprises the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island) who also happened to be the older brother of his predecessor, Bishop Henry Joseph O'Leary. Born in Richibucto, New Brunswick, the son of Henry O'Leary and Mary O'Leary, O'Leary received his higher education from St. Joseph's College in Memramcook before going on to study at the Grand Seminary in Montreal, Quebec. He later travelled to Rome, where he was ordained a priest in 1900 for the Diocese of Chatham in New Brunswick. He later received doctorates in Theology and Canon Law while in Rome. After serving as auxiliary bishop in Chatham since 1914, O'Leary was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Charlottetown on September 10, 1920, succeeding his younger brother who had been appointed as Archbishop for the Archdiocese of Edmonton. Henry Joseph O'Leary (March 13, 1879 – March 5, 1938) was a Canadian cleric, the fifth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlottetown, and later the second Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Edmonton. Born in Richibucto, New Brunswick to Henry O'Leary and Mary O'Leary, he received his higher education from St. Joseph's College in Memramcook then studied Theology at the Grand Seminary in Montreal. On September 21, 1901, O'Leary was ordained a priest in Richibucto. The same year he went to Rome, where he later earned doctorates in Theology, Philosophy, and Canon Law. In 1907 O'Leary was appointed priest for the Sacred Heart Parish in Bathurst, New Brunswick. The following year, he was appointed Vicar General for the Diocese of Chatham. Dorchester, New Brunswick
Dorchester is a formerly incorporated village and the shire town of Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada. It is named for Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester, an 18th-century Governor-General of the old Province of Quebec. It is located on the eastern side of the mouth of the lush Memramcook River valley near the river's discharge point into Shepody Bay. Dorchester is an English-speaking community but it is adjacent to French-speaking Acadian areas farther up the Memramcook River valley. On 1 January 2023, Dorchester merged with the town of Sackville and parts of three local service districts to form the new town of Tantramar. Sawmill
A sawmill (saw mill, saw-mill) or lumber mill is a facility where logging, logs are cut into lumber. Modern sawmills use a motorized saw to cut logs lengthwise to make long pieces, and crosswise to length depending on standard or custom sizes (dimensional lumber).
