"Help It Along" is a song by British singer Cliff Richard, released as a four-track maxi single. It peaked at number 29 on the UK Singles Chart. Release "Help It Along", written by Christopher Neil, was the first track of the maxi single titled ''Eurovision Special''. The other three tracks were "Tomorrow Rising", written by Mike Hawker and Brian Bennett, "Days of Love", written by Alan Hawkshaw and Dougie Wright, and "Ashes to Ashes", written by Tony Cole. The four songs were the remaining of the six songs selected as finalists for the UK Eurovision national selection process. The other two, "Power to All Our Friends" and "Come Back Billie Jo" were released as the previous A-side and B-side single and had received the two highest votes. Sir Cliff Richard (born Harry Rodger Webb; 14 October 1940) is a British singer and actor. Branko Bernard Miler (died 2001), better known by his stage name Tony Cole, was an Australian singer and songwriter. He made his recording debut backed by the Crestaires on the Pakktel label in 1965 with the single, "Boomerang Baby". He moved to the United Kingdom in the early 1970s. He co-wrote, "Beg, Steal or Borrow", which was performed by the New Seekers as the United Kingdom's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, where it finished second. He was a songwriter on Cliff Richard's film, ''Take Me High'' (1973). Trevor Spencer (born 21 May 1947 in Adelaide, Australia) is an Australian songwriter, record producer and drummer. He studied drums and percussion from the age of 10. By the age of 14, he was playing professionally in bands in Adelaide and Melbourne, where he met his songwriting and musical partner Alan Tarney. Career In 1967 Trevor Spencer (born: 21 May 1947) was a founding member of psychedelic pop-progressive rock group James Taylor Move. In 1969 he moved to Ham in England and after forming his first band, Quartet, he became a studio drummer for acts such as Cliff Richard, Marvin and Farrar and Olivia Newton-John. Alan Tarney (born 19 November 1945) is an English record producer and musician. He was born in Northside, Workington, Cumberland, but spent his teenage years in Adelaide, Australia, where he met his songwriting and musical partner Trevor Spencer. He is best known for his association with Cliff Richard and producing "Take On Me" by A-ha. Career Musician Tarney was part of the influx of British migrants who settled in Elizabeth during the height of the 1960s pop music boom. Kevin Peek (21 December 1946 – 11 February 2013) was an Australian guitarist, playing both Rock music, rock and classical music, best known for his work with the progressive rock band Sky (English/Australian band), Sky. Biography Peek was born in Adelaide, South Australia, and initially played classical percussion in the Adelaide Conservatorium of Music, before teaching himself the guitar. Alan Hawkshaw
William Alan Hawkshaw (27 March 1937 – 16 October 2021) was a British composer and performer, particularly of library music used as themes for films and television programs. Hawkshaw worked extensively for the KPM production music company in the 1950s to the 1970s, composing and recording many stock tracks that have been used extensively in film and TV. He was the composer of a number of theme tunes including ''Grange Hill'' (originally library music recorded in Munich known as " Chicken Man") and '' Countdown''.
