Hecht Museum
The Reuben and Edith Hecht Museum is a museum located on the grounds of the University of Haifa, Israel. History The Hecht Museum was established in 1984 by Reuben Hecht, director of Dagon Silos and a founding member of the University of Haifa Board of Governors. For sixty years, Hecht collected archaeological artefacts representing the material culture of the Land of Israel, canaanean and philistine civilizations in ancient times. He was particularly interested in finds from the Canaanite period to the end of the Byzantine period. Hecht believed that archeology was an important expression of Zionism and these ancient artifacts were proof of the link between the Jewish people and Eretz Israel. Hecht is a pop rock band hailing from Lucerne, Switzerland. Two of their albums and four of their singles have been awarded gold status in Switzerland and all their full-length albums were in the national charts for multiple weeks. Their album ''Adam + Eva'' has also already been awarden platinum status in Switzerland. They perform in the band's native Swiss German language. History Together with Rolf Furrer, Stefan Buck and Cristoph Schröter founded the Band ''Seng'', that would later be renamed to ''Hecht'', in the year 2000 in Lucerne. Hecht's was an American department store chain founded in 1857 by Samuel Hecht, Jr. It was headquartered in Washington, D.C., and operated in the Mid-Atlantic (United States), Mid-Atlantic and Southern United States. The family business was acquired by The May Department Stores Company in 1959, which itself was Acquisition of The May Department Stores Company by Federated Department Stores, acquired by Macy's, Inc., Federated Department Stores in 2005. The uneven bars or asymmetric bars is an artistic gymnastics apparatus. It is made of a steel frame. The bars are made of fiberglass with wood coating, or less commonly wood. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is UB or AB, and the apparatus and event are often referred to simply as "bars". The bars are placed at different heights and widths, allowing the gymnast to transition from bar to bar. A gymnast usually adds white chalk to the hands so that they can grip the bar better. The vault is an artistic gymnastics maneuver typically performed on a pommel horse or a vaulting table. Both male and female gymnasts perform the vault. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is VT. The apparatus German Friedrich Ludwig Jahn popularized the vault's early forms. The apparatus itself originated as a "horse", much like the pommel horse but without the handles; it was sometimes known as the vaulting horse.
