''Hawaii Five-0'' is an American police procedural Drama (film and television), drama television series developed for CBS by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Peter M. Lenkov. It is a reboot (fiction), reboot of the Hawaii Five-O (1968 TV series), 1968–80 series (the original series had the letter "O" in its title, the 2010 series has the number zero), which also aired on CBS. The series starred Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan and centers around a fictional special police major crimes task force operating at the behest of the governor of Hawaii. It was produced by K/O Paper Products and 101st Street Television, initially in association with CBS Studios. The series premiered on September 20, 2010, airing for ten seasons, with the finale airing on April 3, 2020. Matt Wheeler (also known as Matt J. L. Wheeler) is a British screenwriter and producer who has worked in television and film. Eric Guggenheim (born October 22, 1973) is an American screenwriter. He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1995. Two years later he sold a script, ''Trim'', to Fox 2000 at age 23. "Hawaii Five-O Theme" is an instrumental composed by Morton Stevens as the theme music for the CBS television series '' Hawaii Five-O'', which aired from 1968 to 1980. It is considered by many to be one of the best television themes of all time. Rank: #1 The cover version by The Ventures was one of the band's biggest hits. Morton Stevens
Morton Stevens (January 30, 1929 – November 11, 1991) was an American film score composer. In 1965, he became director of music for CBS West Coast operations. He is probably best known for composing the theme music for '' Hawaii Five-O'', a CBS television series for which he won two Emmy Awards in 1970 and 1974, and was a gold record for The Ventures. Stevens was taught by Oscar-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith, with whom he frequently collaborated on other projects.
