Hapoel Bik'at HaYarden () is an Israeli football club based in Tomer. The club is currently in Liga Alef South division and play home matches at Moshav Tomer Ground. History The club was founded in 1999 in continuation for the youth section, which already existed at the time. Bik'at HaYarden played in Liga Gimel until the 2008–09 Liga Gimel, 2008–09 season, when they finished runners-up in the Liga Gimel#Liga Gimel Sharon, Sharon division and faced the Liga Gimel#Liga Gimel Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv division runners-up, Hapoel Kiryat Ono F.C., Hapoel Kiryat Ono in a promotion play-off. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. The 2012–13 Liga Bet season saw Beitar Nahariya (champions of the North A division), Hapoel Beit She'an/Mesilot (champions of the North B division), Hapoel Mahane Yehuda (champions of the South A division) and Maccabi Be'er Ya'akov (champions of the South B division) win the title and promotion to Liga Alef. The clubs ranked 2nd to 5th in each division entered a promotion play-off, at the end of which, in the North section Hapoel Iksal lost against Maccabi Kafr Kanna from Liga Alef North and remained in Liga Bet, while, in the South section, F.C. The 2008–09 Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina'') was the 70th season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the 55th after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. The competition was won by Beitar Jerusalem who had beaten Maccabi Haifa 2–1 in the final. As Beitar Jerusalem wasn't eligible for participating in UEFA competitions, and as runners-up Maccabi Haifa already qualified to 2009–10 UEFA Champions League, all Europa League spots were awarded to teams according to their league positions. Israel State Cup
The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for "minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018. The Israeli football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Israel. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the system. The Betar Movement ( he, תנועת בית"ר), also spelled Beitar (), is a Revisionist Zionist youth movement founded in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, by Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky.
