HAMK Häme University Of Applied Sciences
HAMK Häme University of Applied Sciences () is a multidisciplinary university of applied sciences that operates in the regions of Kanta-Häme and Pirkanmaa and also offers online studies. HAMK offers several dozen bachelor's degree programmes and several master's degree programmes (YAMK) in the fields of bioeconomy, business, design, education, health and technology. HAMK also offers education in English. HAMK operates at seven locations, based in southern Finland: Evo, Hämeenlinna, Evo, Forssa, Hämeenlinna, Lepaa, Mustiala, Riihimäki and Valkeakoski. There are approximately 10,000 students and 750 staff members. HAMK has a wide network of partners. Alula Aba Nega Airport , also known as Mekelle Airport, is a public airport serving Mekelle, the capital city of the Tigray Region in northern Ethiopia. The airport is located southeast of the city. History This airport was built in the late 1990s, to replace an older one located from Mekelle. The airport was named after the 19th century Ethiopian military leader Ras Alula, also known as Alula Aba Nega. He is well known for his battles against Italy, the Ottoman Turks, Egypt and the Battle of Adwa. The University of Applied Sciences (UAS; ; ) in Finland is an institute of higher education offering tertiary level instruction with a heavy emphasis on professional practice. The UAS are qualitatively different from Finnish universities. Unlike universities, the UAS focus on R&D by applying previous knowledge, rather than scientific discovery.
