H. M. The King's Medal
H. M. ( His Majesty) The King's Medal ( sv, H.M. Konungens medalj), earlier known as the Court Medal ( sv, Hovmedaljen), is a Swedish honour that may be bestowed upon Swedish and foreign citizens. The medal was created in 1814 and is awarded in different sizes in gold and silver with chain or ribbon. This medal is not awarded in classes but in sizes. The 12th size is the largest and is worn around the neck on a chain or ribbon. The 8th and 5th size are worn from the left breast suspended by a ribbon, after the Seraphim Medal. It is awarded to Swedish and foreign citizens for special merits as well as to officials at the royal court. Since 1975 it is the next highest award, after the Seraphim Medal, that can be awarded to Swedish citizens because the Royal Order of the Seraphim is only for the royal family. Medals H.M. Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister
Countess Alice Viktoria Trolle-Wachtmeister (9 May 1926 – 26 June 2017) was a courtier at the Royal Court of Sweden from the 1970s to 2015, serving as chief court mistress from 1994 to 2015. Career Alice Viktoria Tornérhielm was born on 9 May 1926 in Helsingborg, the daughter of Erik Gunnar Tornérhielm (1895-1969), a squire from Gedsholm, and the Danish-born Ellen Valentiner-Branth (1897-1965). As a child, Trolle-Wachtmeister was often ill and lived for a long time in a sanatorium with a nurse in her mother's home country, Denmark. When she returned home to Gedsholm outside Helsingborg, she spoke only Danish. During her early school years, she lived in a boarding house in Helsingborg. Seventeen years old in 1943, she followed her mother's example and joined the Swedish Women's Voluntary Defence Organization. Johan Hederstedt
General Johan Ivar Hederstedt (born 26 August 1943) is a senior Swedish Army officer. Hederstedt was commissioned as an officer in 1966 and served in Älvsborg Regiment (I 15) and Northern Småland Regiment (I 12) in the 1960s and 1970s. Hederstedt served with UNFICYP in Cyprus and UNIFIL in Lebanon before becoming commanding officer of the Life Guards Brigade (MekIB 1) in 1988. He was commanding officer of the Western Army Division from 1993 to 1996 and was International Operations Commander at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters. Hederstedt was then Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces from 2000 to 2003. Early life Hederstedt was born on 26 August 1943 in Nässjö Parish, Jönköping County, Sweden the son of lieutenant colonel Johan Hederstedt and his wife Hillevi (née Sandstedt).
