Gummi is a Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Gummi at . It has an area of 2,610 km2 and a population of 204,539 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 891. Gummi was carved out of the former larger Sokoto state, which included the present Zamfara and Kebbi states. Gummi has a long history of relative peace and security. Park Ji-yeon (Hangul: 박지연; born April 8, 1981), better known by her stage name Gummy (Hangul: 거미), is a South Korean singer. She debuted in 2003 with the album ''Like Them'' and has since become known for her soundtrack appearances. Career 2003–2009: Debut and breakthrough success Gummy debuted in 2003 with the album ''Like Them''. Gummibär or Gummy Bear (; German for "gummy bear") is a German-origin Euro-Dance multilingual character and virtual band that performs gummy bear-related songs on various albums, including ''I Am Your Gummy Bear'' (2007) and ''La La Love to Dance'' (2010). The video for the song "I'm a Gummy Bear" has nearly 3 billion views on YouTube. Name origins and appearance The name "Gummibär" is taken from a German brand of bear-shaped gum candies from Haribo introduced in 1920. The highly stylized green blue-eyed obese gelatinous bear character wears an orange Y-front briefs/underwear and white sneakers. Gummibär also seems to be bitten with a small portion of the upper left ear missing.
