Gold mining is the extraction of gold resources by mining. Historically, mining gold from alluvial deposits used manual separation processes, such as gold panning. However, with the expansion of gold mining to ores that are not on the surface, has led to more complex extraction processes such as pit mining and gold cyanidation. In the 20th and 21st centuries, most volume of mining was done by large corporations, however the value of gold has led to millions of small, artisanal miners in many parts of the Global South. Like all mining, human rights and environmental issues are common issues in the gold mining industry. In smaller mines with less regulation, health and safety risks are much higher. ''Goldmine'', established in September 1974 by Brian Bukantis out of Fraser, Michigan, is an American magazine that focuses on the collectors' market for records, tapes, CDs, and music-related memorabilia. Each issue features news articles, interviews, discographies, histories, current reviews on recording stars of the past and present. Discographies are included, listing all known releases. Coverage includes rock, blues, soul, Americana, folk, new wave, punk and heavy metal. At one point its chief competitor was ''DISCoveries'' (with more of an emphasis on 1950s oldies), which later was purchased by the same owner before folding into it as a single publication. ''Goldmine'' was published bimonthly until 1977, when it became a monthly publication. It recently returned to a bimonthly frequency at the beginning of 2022. Its headquarters is in New York, NY. Silvía Night ( is, Silvía Nótt) is a fictional, satirical character on (''The Silvia Night Show''), an Icelandic comedy show of the television channel Skjár einn. The character was invented by Gaukur Úlfarsson and Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir; the latter plays Silvía Night. Silvía Night interviews people in real-life situations. Before the show made its début on TV, and when Silvía was still unknown, she used to upset the people she interviewed dramatically with her outrageous behaviour. Silvía Night was Iceland's participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Her antics, both onstage and offstage, created controversy and garnered international media attention. Her album '' Goldmine'' was released in April. It topped the Official Icelandic Albums chart on 23 April 2007. ''Goldmine'' is the debut studio album from American country music singer Gabby Barrett. It was released on June 19, 2020, through Warner Music Nashville. Content Barrett told the blog Sounds Like Nashville that she had begun writing songs for the album in 2018 and 2019, with lead single " I Hope" having been written in late 2018. Pop singer Charlie Puth, after hearing the song, contacted Barrett on Instagram and offered to remix it with his own vocals. "I Hope" reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Country Airplay chart dated April 25, 2020, and also topped the ''Billboard'' Country Streaming Songs chart, which made Barrett the first woman to score a No. 1 on that chart with her debut single.
