The Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, commonly referred to simply as the Gold Logie, is an award presented annually at the Australian Logie Awards. The Gold Logie was first awarded at the 2nd Annual TV Week Logie Awards, held in 1960 when the award was originally called Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. It was briefly renamed ''Best Personality on Australian Television'' in 2016-2017. For the 2018 ceremony, the award category name was reverted to Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. The winner and nominees of the Gold Logie are chosen by the public through an online voting survey on the ''TV Week'' website. Gold Logies were awarded for separate male and female categories in 1962, 1967, 1970, 1971, and between 1974 and 1977. ''Pick a Box'' was an Australian game shows that first aired on radio in 1948 until the early 1960s; subsequently, the concept transferred to TV and was broadcast from 1957 and 1971. Robert "Bobby" Limb AO, OBE (10 November 1924 – 11 September 1999) was an Australian-born entertainment pioneer, comedian, band leader and musician and legend of radio, television and theatre of the 1960s and 1970s, he also founded the film and TV production company NLT Productions, with Jack Neary and Les Tinker. One of its main products was adventure serial '' The Rovers'', which was aimed at breaking the international market. ''It Could Be You'' is an Australian daytime television series which aired from 1961 to 1966, with later revivals. The best known version was the first version, which was hosted by Tommy Hanlon Jr., assisted by Jack Little. Hanlon was among several Americans who had shows on 1960s Australian television, the others included Delo and Daly, Larry K. Nixon, and Don Lane. Broadcast originally on Melbourne station GTV-9, it eventually become a Nine Network show. While considered a game show, it was not a strict quiz format. The unusual format (often involving reunions with long-lost relatives) was popular with female viewers. ''The Lorrae Desmond Show'' was an early black and white, Australian television music and variety show, produced by James Upshaw which aired from 1960 to 1964 on the ABC hosted by singer and entertainer Lorrae Desmond, later best known for her role as Shirley Gilroy in soap opera/serial ''A Country Practice'', who won the Gold Logie for the program. ''The Lorrae Desmond Show'' was a similar to ''The Dinah Shore Show'' in the US, with emphasis on live performances and dance numbers. The final episode aired on 27 April 1964.
