Gymnastics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Vault
The women's vault event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 25 July and 1 August 2021 at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Unlike the other apparatus events, vault requires gymnasts to perform two exercises in order for results to count towards the vault final; most of the gymnasts perform only one (if they are participating in team or individual all-around) or none (if they are only participating in other apparatus). Approximately 20 gymnasts from 15 nations (of the 98 total gymnasts) competed two vaults in the qualifying round. Rebeca Andrade of Brazil won the event for her second individual medal of the 2020 Olympics. Andrade's medal is the first gold for Brazil in women's artistic gymnastics. MyKayla Skinner of the United States earned the silver medal after originally being excluded by the two-per-country rule. Ariake Gymnastics Centre
The Ariake GYM-EX, formerly known as the Ariake Gymnastics Centre, is an exhibition hall and former sports arena in the Ariake, Tokyo, Ariake district of Tokyo, Japan. Opened in October 2019, the venue was originally constructed to host the Gymnastics at the 2020 Summer Olympics, gymnastics events at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the Boccia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, boccia events at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Following the Olympics, the venue was redeveloped by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government into an exhibition hall, renamed the Ariake GYM-EX, with the intention of promoting smaller Tokyo-area businesses. Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina (born 8 August 1994) is a Mexican artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World bronze medalist on vault, the first Mexican female gymnast to medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Shallon Jade Olsen (born 10 July 2000) is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World silver medallist and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion on vault. Gymnastics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Artistic Qualification
Qualification for women's artistic gymnastics competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre on 25 July 2021. The results of the qualification determined the qualifiers to the finals: 8 teams in the team final, 24 gymnasts in the individual all-around final, and 8 gymnasts in each of 4 apparatus finals. The competition was divided into five subdivisions. Subdivisions Gymnasts from nations taking part in the team all-around event were grouped together while the remaining gymnasts were grouped into one of eight mixed groups. 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in Stuttgart, Germany from October 4–13, 2019. The championships took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, and was the third time the city of Stuttgart hosted the event following the 1989 and 2007 editions, and the fifth time Germany hosted it. As of October 2, 92 federations registered gymnasts for the event with a total of 288 men and 259 women. Sam Mikulak of the United States and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos of France won the Longines Prize for Elegance. The 2018 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships was the 48th edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The competition was held from October 25 – November 3, 2018, at the Aspire Academy Dome in Doha, Qatar. It was the first time that the competition was held in the Middle East.
