Gymnastics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Parallel Bars
The men's parallel bars event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 24 July and 3 August 2021 at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Approximately 70 gymnasts from 35 nations (of the 98 total gymnasts) competed on parallel bars in the qualifying round. Zou Jingyuan of China won the title for his first individual Olympic medal. Germany's Lukas Dauser earned the silver for his first Olympic medal. Ferhat Arıcan of Turkey rounded off the podium in bronze, earning not only his first Olympic medal, but also the first for his country in artistic gymnastics. The defending champion, Oleg Verniaiev from Ukraine, did not enter the competition as he was serving a doping ban. Joe Fraser (gymnast)
Joe Fraser (born 6 December 1998) is an English artistic gymnast. He is the 2022 European all-around and parallel bars champion and the 2019 world champion on the parallel bars, the first British gymnast to ever win gold in any of these events. As a member of the British Senior team since 2017, he has also won team gold and silver, and bronze on the pommel horse, in the European Artistic Gymnastic Championships. Representing England in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Fraser won three gold medals in team, pommel horse and parallel bars. Personal life Fraser was born 6 December 1998 with six fingers on each hand; he had the additional digits removed as a baby. Xiao Ruoteng (, born 30 January 1996) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. Personal life Xiao was born 30 January 1996 in Beijing, China. He began gymnastics at age five. Xiao has received four awards. The General Administration of Sport of China named him an Elite Athlete of National Class in 2012 and 2016. In 2018, the Xinhua News Agency named him one of the Top 10 Athletes of the Year in the People's Republic of China. In 2020, he received the Beijing May 4th Youth Medal. Samuel Anthony Mikulak (born October 13, 1992) is a retired American artistic gymnast. He is a six-time U.S. national all-around champion (2013–2016, 2018–2019), the 2018 World bronze medalist on high bar, and a three-time Olympian (2012, 2016, and 2020). He is also an eight-time NCAA champion, winning the team, individual all-around and several individual event titles at the 2011, 2013 and 2014 NCAA Men's Gymnastics championships. Gymnastics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Artistic Qualification
Qualification for men's artistic gymnastics competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre on 24 July 2021. The results of the qualification determined the qualifiers to the finals: 8 teams in the team final, 24 gymnasts in the all-around final, and 8 gymnasts in each of six apparatus finals. The competition was divided into three subdivisions. Subdivisions Gymnasts from nations taking part in the team all-around event were grouped together while the remaining gymnasts were grouped into one of six mixed groups. The groups were divided into the three subdivisions after a draw held by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique. 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in Stuttgart, Germany from October 4–13, 2019. The championships took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, and was the third time the city of Stuttgart hosted the event following the 1989 and 2007 editions, and the fifth time Germany hosted it. As of October 2, 92 federations registered gymnasts for the event with a total of 288 men and 259 women. Sam Mikulak of the United States and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos of France won the Longines Prize for Elegance. The 2018 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships was the 48th edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The competition was held from October 25 – November 3, 2018, at the Aspire Academy Dome in Doha, Qatar. It was the first time that the competition was held in the Middle East. Simone Biles became the first American to medal on every event at a single World Championships and the first woman to do so in 31 years.
