Guilbert And Betelle
Guilbert and Betelle was an architecture firm formed as a partnership of Ernest F. Guilbert and James Oscar Betelle. The firm specialized in design of schools on the East Coast of the United States, with an emphasis on the "Collegiate Gothic" style. Betelle took over the firm after Guilbert died in 1916, and oversaw design of hundreds of schools, including Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut and the Radburn School in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, both of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Robert Treat Hotel
The Robert Treat Center is an office and hotel complex in Newark, New Jersey, named for Robert Treat, who founded the city in 1666. One building originally opened as the Robert Treat Hotel in 1916. The landmark was later converted to an office building after the construction of a newer hotel next to it. The adjacent buildings are located at Military Park near the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, One Theater Square and New Jersey Historical Society. A portrait of Robert Treat was prominently placed over the fireplace mantle. In 1933, the Hotel was operated by Niagara Falls businessman Frank A. Dudley and the United Hotels Company. The building was purchased in 1987 by The Berger Organization, which has also renovated some of the city's other commercial landmarks, such as the Firemen's Insurance Company Home Office Building and Military Park Building. Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art (NSFIA) was a city-run vocational and art school in Newark, New Jersey. Opened in 1882 as the Evening Drawing School, its name was changed in 1909 to the Fawcett School of Industrial Arts, and changed again in 1928 to the Newark Public School of Fine and Industrial Art. The name was shortened to Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art some time later. It moved into a new building in 1931.
