Guatemala National Football Team
The Guatemala national football team () represents Guatemala in men's international association football, football and is controlled by the National Football Federation of Guatemala, Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala (). Founded in 1919, it has been affiliated to FIFA since 1946, as a member of CONCACAF. The team has made three Football at the Summer Olympics, Olympic tournament appearances, competing at the Football at the 1968 Summer Olympics, 1968, Football at the 1976 Summer Olympics, 1976, and Football at the 1988 Summer Olympics, 1988 Olympic Games. Guatemala have yet to qualify for the finals tournament of the FIFA World Cup, World Cup, although they have reached the final round of qualification on four occasions. Maya () are an ethnolinguistic group of Indigenous peoples of the Americas, Indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica. The CCCF Championship was an association football competition organized by CCCF as its top regional tournament for men's senior national teams from Central America and the Caribbean. History The regional competition was born in 1938, in Panama City, with the founding of the Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol (), but the outbreak of the Second World War, a year later, prevented the first championship from taking place. 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the 17th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the biennial international men's association football, soccer championship of the North, Central American and Caribbean region organized by CONCACAF. The 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the third edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). Association football has been included in every Summer Olympic Games as a men's competition sport, except 1896 (the inaugural Games) and 1932 (in an attempt to promote the new FIFA World Cup tournament).
