Gros-Mécatina
Gros-Mécatina () is a municipality on the Lower North Shore of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, near the border with Labrador in Quebec, Canada. Located near crab, lobster, and scallop fishing grounds, it is dependent on the fishing business, including a fish processing factory that contributes to regional economic activity. The isolated municipality can only be reached via a regular weekly ferry service, or La Tabatière Airport. The villages of La Tabatière and Mutton Bay are connected via a asphalted road that has views of the gulf from the mountains, but in the winter the road is not plowed, and the only access is via snowmobile. The name, pronounced (me-kuh-TEE-nuh) is from the Innu word ''makatinau'', or "It is a large mountain." Côte-Nord-du-Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent () is a municipality in the regional county municipality of Le Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent in the Côte-Nord region of the province of Quebec, Canada. The municipality consists of two non-contiguous areas, both along the shores of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The larger main part stretches from the Natashquan River to the Gros Mécatina River and includes all populated places. The eastern part is a small section between Middle Bay and Brador. History The Municipality of Côte-Nord-du-Golfe-Saint-Laurent was incorporated in 1963 and originally extended along the shores of the Saint Lawrence from the Natashquan River to the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial border, some roughly corresponding to the Basse-Côte-Nord territory. Duplessis (provincial Electoral District)
Duplessis () is a provincial electoral district in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Sept-Îles, Port-Cartier, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Fermont and the community of Maliotenam. It also includes a single municipality from the Nord-du-Québec region: the Naskapi village municipality of Kawawachikamach (not to be confused with the Naskapi reserved land of the same name, which Duplessis also includes, but is in Côte-Nord). It was created for the 1960 election from parts of the Saguenay provincial electoral district. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it gained the unorganized territories of Caniapiscau and Lac-Juillet from Ungava electoral district. Area codes 418, 581, and 367 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the eastern portion of the Canadian province of Quebec. Area code 418 was originally assigned to the numbering plan area, but all three area codes now form an overlay plan for this territory. Cities in the numbering plan area include Quebec City, Saguenay, Lévis, Rimouski, Saint-Georges, Alma, Thetford Mines, Sept-Îles, Baie-Comeau and Rivière-du-Loup.
