Gregory Martin (scholar)
Gregory Martin (c. 1542 – 28 October 1582) was an English Catholic priest, a noted scholar of his time, academic and Doctor of Divinity, and served as the chief translator of the Rheims and Douai Version of the Bible, the first full, official Catholic English Bible translation, translated from the Latin Vulgate and "diligently conferred with the Hebrew, Greek, and other editions in divers languages". In preparing the translation, he was assisted by several of the other scholars then living in the English College, Douai, the most noteworthy of which were Richard Bristow, William Rainolds (Reynolds), and Cardinal William Allen, who each served as revisers and likely as annotators, though Martin made the whole translation in the first instance and bore the brunt of the work throughout; Thomas Worthington, who was absent from Reims during much of Martin's initial translation period, later took up the task of editing, annotating, and publishing the Douai Old Testament. Greg Martin (born 1981 in Dallas, Texas) is a cybersecurity expert and entrepreneur. Martin was the founder of cyber-security company Anomali and the founder of the cyber security company JASK (Acquired by Sumo Logic 2019). Martin is credited with inventing the first Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP), and is the creator of the popular open source Honeypot project “Modern Honey Network”. Van Gogh Primary is a coeducational primary school operated by Dunraven Educational Trust and located in the Stockwell area of the London Borough of Lambeth, England. The school is based over two sites, on Hackford Road and Cowley Road. Originally known as Durand Primary School, it became Durand Academy in 2010. Gregory Paul Martin (born 21 January 1957) is a British writer and actor. He is the eldest son of Beatles producer Sir George Martin and the half-brother of the music producer Giles Martin. Early life and education Martin was born in 1957 in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. He is the son and second child of Sir George Martin and his first wife, Sheena (née Chisholm). George Martin left his wife and two children in 1962, when Gregory was five, in order to remarry. Martin grew up in Hatfield and attended St Albans School in Hertfordshire, graduating in 1975. Greg Martin (rugby Union)
Greg J Martin (born 30 June 1963) is an Australian rugby union player. He played as a fullback. He earned nine Wallaby caps in 1989 and 1990, and 65 caps for the Queensland Reds. He played club rugby for the Brisbane club University for 18 years. Since retiring from playing he has worked as part of Fox Sports Rugby Union match commentary team in Australia. Martin is born on the same day as fellow former wallaby, Mark Bartholomeusz. He is widely known for his controversial comments, including challenging the need for the All Blacks Haka. In 2009 he also stood for election in the state election in the seat of South Brisbane, where he received 1.3% of the vote.
