Ice Hockey UK
Ice Hockey UK (IHUK) is the national governing body of ice hockey in the United Kingdom. Affiliated to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), IHUK is the internationally recognised umbrella body in the United Kingdom. IHUK was created to replace the British Ice Hockey Association (BIHA). The organisation is responsible to the IIHF for the good order of the sport in the UK. The IHUK is charged with ensuring that all overseas players are properly cleared to play and that the rules and by-laws of the IIHF are upheld. Ice Hockey UK runs the men's (Great Britain men's national ice hockey team) and women's senior, and Under 20 and Under 18, national teams. 2003 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 2003 IIHF Women's World Championships was set to be held in Beijing, China, from April 4–9, 2003. However, it was cancelled due to the global SARS oubreak. Only the top division event was cancelled, as the lower divisions still had their tournaments. The teams from Russia, Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland were already in China, while the American and Finnish teams were awaiting word on whether they should travel when the IIHF indicated that the Championships were to be postponed or even cancelled. The move to cancel was a logical one, as the Canadians were under a government order not to travel at all at that time. The Division I tournament was held in Ventspils, Latvia from March 9 to 15. The Division II tournament was held in Lecco, Italy from March 31 to April 6. Top Division Postponed, then cancelled. 2018 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II
The 2018 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II consisted of three international ice hockey tournaments organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Division II A, Division II B and Division II B Qualification represent the fourth, fifth and sixth tier of the IIHF Women's World Championship. The Netherlands won the Division II Group A tournament and will play in Division I next year. Spain took home the top spot in the Division II Group B tournament and were promoted to Division II Group A for next year, while Croatia won the Division II Group B Qualification tournament. 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II
The 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II consisted of three international ice hockey tournaments organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Division II A, Division II B and Division II B Qualification represent the fourth, fifth and sixth tier of the IIHF Women's World Championship. At the 2017 IIHF annual congress it was decided that the Top Division would expand from eight to ten teams. As a result, all relegations from the 2017 tournaments were cancelled, and there would also be no relegation in all 2018 tournaments. The 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I consisted of two international ice hockey tournaments organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Division I A and Division I B represent the second and third tier of the IIHF Women's World Championship. Division I Group A The Division I Group A tournament was played at DNB Arena in Stavanger, Norway, from 7 to 13 April 2013. The winners of this tournament were initially presumed to be promoted to the 2015 Top Division. The 2011 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II was an international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was played in Caen, France, from 4 to 10 April 2011. Division II represented the third tier of the IIHF Women's World Championship. 2009 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 2009 IIHF World Women's Championships was held in Hämeenlinna, Finland, from 4 to 12 April 2009. This was the 12th women's ice hockey world championship run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The defending champions United States defeated Canada 4–1 in the final match to win the gold medal and retain their top standing another year.
