Grande Prairie—Mackenzie (federal Electoral District)
Grande Prairie is a federal electoral district in northwestern Alberta, created in 2012 as Grande Prairie—Mackenzie from the Peace River district. It contains the western half of Alberta's Peace region, including the city of Grande Prairie (where more than half its residents live) and stretching to the border with the Northwest Territories. It is impossible to traverse the district by road without leaving it, as the section of the Peace River contained within has no bridges or ferries. Following the 2022 Canadian federal electoral redistribution, this riding was renamed at the 2025 Canadian federal election. It lost the remainder of Mackenzie County including the communities of Rainbow Lake, Hay Lake 209, Upper Hay River 212, High Level and Bushe River 207 to Peace River—Westlock. Grande Prairie
Grande Prairie is a city in Northern Alberta, northwestern Alberta, Canada, within the southern portion of an area known as Peace River Country. It is located at the intersection of Alberta Highway 43, Highway 43 (part of the CANAMEX Corridor) and Alberta Highway 40, Highway 40 (the Bighorn Highway), approximately northwest of Edmonton. Peace River—Westlock is a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2015. Peace River—Westlock was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for October 19, 2015. High Level is a town in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located at the intersection of the Mackenzie Highway (Highway 35) and Highway 58, approximately north of Edmonton and south of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. 2022 Canadian Federal Electoral Redistribution
A redistribution of federal electoral districts ("ridings") began in Canada following the results of the 2021 Canadian census. The Constitution of Canada requires that federal electoral districts that compose the House of Commons undergo a redistribution of boundaries following each decennial Canadian census. The redistribution process began in October 2021; it was completed in October 2023. It is based on data obtained during the 2021 Canadian census. It is also based on the practice of giving each district only one member, which has been in effect since the 1968 election. The changes to the federal electoral district boundaries took effect for the 2025 Canadian federal election, which was the first general election called after April 22, 2024. Peace River
The Peace River () is a river in Canada that originates in the Rocky Mountains of northern British Columbia and flows to the northeast through northern Alberta.
