Skåne County ( ), sometimes referred to as Scania County or just Scania in English, is the southernmost Counties of Sweden, county, or , of Sweden, mostly corresponding to the traditional Provinces of Sweden, province of Scania. A governor-general () was appointed by the Swedish monarch as his permanent representative, with both civil and military jurisdiction, over parts of Sweden, from the 17th century to the early 19th century, when constitutional changes made the office obsolete. A governor-general was always appointed as the highest representative of the Swedish monarch in the dominions ruled, or the possessions governed, by Sweden. Conquered, and unintegrated, territories were apart from this, more or less allowed to retain their internal political structure. A county administrative board () is a Government agencies in Sweden, Swedish Government Agency in each of the counties of Sweden, led by a vice-regal governor () appointed by the Government of Sweden, government for a term of six years. The lists of gubernatorial officeholders, in most cases, stretches back to 1634 when the counties were created by Lord High Chancellor of Sweden, Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna. The main responsibilities of the county administrative board is to coordinate the development of the county in line with goals set in national politics. Fabian Von Fersen
Baron Fabian von Fersen (February 7, 1626 – July 30, 1677) was a Swedish general, freelord, field-marshal and governor general of Scania, Halland and Blekinge. He served the Swedish Empire in multiple wars and received appointments Field Marshal, and then Governor General of the Scanian lands, which included the provinces of Skåne, Halland and Blekinge in 1676. Early life Military career Fabian von Fersen became a court cadet in 1643, participated as a volunteer in the navy in 1644 in Torstensson War and then in the Thirty Years' War, and became a lieutenant colonel in 1647. Fersen was a cousin of Otto Wilhelm von Fersen and, like him, participated in Charles X Gustav's Polish wars and the wars against Denmark. Death When the Danes stormed Malmö in 1677, Fersen managed to repel the attack with only 2,000 soldiers, but he suffered such severe injuries that he died a few days later. Gustaf Otto Gustafsson Stenbock (17 September 1614, Torpa stenhus – 24 September 1685, Stockholm) was a Swedish military officer and politician. Biography He was a member of the noble Stenbock family; born to the Riksråd (Privy Councilor) and his wife, Countess Beata Margareta née Brahe (1583–1645). He was therefore related to the royal family on his father's side. In 1631, he joined the Småland Cavalry Regiment. From 1633, he fought in Germany, during the Thirty Years' War, and took part in the Battle of Nördlingen, among others. He won promotions to Commander of the Kronoberg Regiment (1637), and Colonel of the Jönköping Regiment (1639). He was seriously wounded at the Second Battle of Breitenfeld in 1642, and returned home. Halland County
Halland County (, ) is a county ('' län'') on the western coast of Sweden. It corresponds roughly to the cultural and historical province of Halland. The capital is Halmstad. Prince Julian, the son of Prince Carl Philip, is Duke of Halland. It borders the counties of Västra Götaland, Jönköping, Kronoberg, Scania and the sea of the Kattegat.
