Governor Of Yucatán
The governor of the State of Yucatan is the head of the executive branch of the Mexican state of Yucatán, elected to a six-year-term and not eligible for reelection. The figure of the governor is established on the Constitution of the State of Yucatan on its Title Fifth. The term of the Governor begins on October 1 of the year of the election and finishes September 30, six years later. The same constitution empowers those individuals to be elected governor who have held the title of executive power but in a different way to the popular election, namely the interim, or temporary replacements. The latter has caused controversies and political conflicts, because in the view of several instances is in conflict with a precept of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States that stipulates that no state governor may hold power for more than six years. Joaquín Díaz Mena
Joaquín Jesús Díaz Mena (born 16 August 1974), nicknamed Huacho, is a Mexican politician currently from the National Regeneration Movement (Morena). He was a federal deputy during the 63rd session of Congress, representing Yucatán from the third electoral region. He is the current Governor of Yucatán, in which office he has served since 1 October 2024. Life Díaz Mena obtained a degree in Tourism Business Administration-Hotels and Restaurants from the Instituto Tecnológico de Mérida in 1994; he managed the Mesón Hacienda restaurant, and the Hotel Club Las Velas in Cancún. Enrique Dávila Pacheco (15?? – 1663) was a royal ambassador of Spain, Acting Governor and Captain General of Yucatán (state), Yucatán, Governor of Nueva Vizcaya, New Spain, Nueva Vizcaya and Governor of Tlaxcala. Francisco Núñez Melián (died 13 April 1644) was a Spanish adventurer and royal administrator born in Madrid. By 1619, Melián had become a member of the Havana city council. He also held the prominent post of treasurer for the Windward Islands region of the Santa Cruzada, a fund that managed the alms given by the faithful for indulgences and the support of the church. In 1624, after initial attempts to salvage the ships of the 1622 Tierra Firme (South American) Fleet had failed, he was granted license by King Philip IV to search for the wrecks of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha and Santa Margarita.
