''Got Talent'' is a British talent show TV format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment. It has spawned spin-offs in over 60 countries, in what is now referred to as the 'Got Talent' format, similar to that described by Fremantle of the ''Idol'' and ''The X Factor'' formats. Unlike those shows, ''Got Talent'' (influenced by the variety of talent shows '' Opportunity Knocks'' and ''New Faces'') showcases other artistic disciplines as well as singers. Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (; born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality and businessman. Opportunity Knocks (British TV Series)
''Opportunity Knocks'' is a British television and radio talent show originally hosted by Hughie Green, with a late-1980s revival hosted by Bob Monkhouse, and later by previous winner Les Dawson. From its origin on BBC Radio in 1949 the show provided a platform to fame for acts such as Spike Milligan and Frankie Vaughan. One of the most popular shows on British television, in the 1960s and 1970s it had a weekly audience of 20 million viewers. The original radio version started on the BBC Light Programme, where it ran from 18 February to 29 September 1949, but moved to Radio Luxembourg in the 1950s. It was shown on ITV from 20 June 1956 to 29 August 1956, produced by Associated Rediffusion. America's Got Talent Season 9
The ninth season of American talent show competition series ''America's Got Talent'' was broadcast on NBC from May 27 to September 17, 2014. Following the previous season, the program underwent a number of format changes, including the second audition stage and to the Wildcard format. The most significant change to be made was the inclusion of the "Golden Buzzer", an element that was being introduced into the ''Got Talent'' franchise around that time (although the format used would later be changed by the next season). Apart from the format changes, the ninth season's audition process featured the first and only involvement of a third-party television program to collaborate with ''America's Got Talent'' in offering a place in the competition. The ninth season was won by magician Mat Franco, with singer Emily West finishing in second, and acrobatic group Acro Army placing third. The ''Express & Star'' is a regional evening newspaper in Britain. Founded in 1889, it is based in Wolverhampton, England, and covers the West Midlands county and Staffordshire. Currently edited by Martin Wright, the ''Express & Star'' publishes six editions a week between Monday and Saturday. The eighth series of British talent competition programme ''Britain's Got Talent'' was broadcast on ITV (TV network), ITV, from 12 April to 7 June 2014; because of England national football team, England's international friendly with Peru national football team, Peru, the show took a break on 30 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match.
