Gora Pri Pečah
Gora pri Pečah () is a settlement in the Municipality of Moravče in central Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region. Name Gora pri Pečah was attested in historical sources as ''Perg'' in 1444. The name of the settlement was changed from ''Gora svetega Florjana'' (literally, 'Mount Saint Florian') to ''Gora pri Pečah'' (literally, 'mountain near Peče') in 1955. The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms. Upper Carniola ( ; ; ) is a traditional region of Slovenia, the northern mountainous part of the larger Carniola region. Saint Florian
Florian (; AD 250 – 304) was a Christian holy man and the patron saint of chimney sweeps; soapmakers, and firefighters. His feast day is 4 May. Florian is also the patron saint of Poland, the city of Linz, Austria, and Upper Austria, jointly with Leopold III, Margrave of Austria. Life Florian was born around AD 250 in the ancient Roman city of Aelium Cetium, present-day Sankt Pölten, Austria. He joined the Roman Army and advanced in the ranks, rising to commander of the imperial army in the Roman province of Noricum. In addition to his military duties, he was also responsible for organizing and leading firefighting brigades. Florian organized and trained an elite group of soldiers whose sole duty was to fight fires. The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Sava Statistical Region. Archaeological finds The settlement is best known for the Hallstatt-period Vače situla (), an archaeological treasure of Slovenia, which was discovered in neighboring Klenik in 1882. It is a bronze vessel with a triple figurative frieze. Another important find was the Vače belt-plate (), also discovered in Klenik.
