''Going, Going – Live at Leeds City Varieties'' is a live DVD by Chumbawamba. Filmed at Leeds City Varieties in December 2012 and released in 2013, it records the band's final gig before they split up, bringing to an end a 30–year career. The DVD features the late–period core lineup of Lou Watts, Boff Whalley, Jude Abbott, Neil Ferguson and Phil Moody, joined for various numbers by previous band members Dunstan Bruce, Danbert Nobacon, Alice Nutter, Harry Hamer and Paul Greco, and guests including O'Hooley and Tidow and Roy Bailey. A condensed version of the concert was played as a special on BBC Radio Leeds. Chumbawamba
Chumbawamba () was a British anarcho-punk band who formed in 1982 and disbanded in 2012. They are best known for their 1997 single "Tubthumping", which was nominated for Best British Single at the Brit Awards 1998. Other singles include "Amnesia", " Enough Is Enough" (with Credit to the Nation), " Timebomb", "Top of the World (Olé, Olé, Olé)", and "Add Me". Their anarcho-communist political leanings led them to have an irreverent attitude toward authority, and to espouse a variety of political and social causes including animal rights and pacifism (early in their career) and later regarding class struggle, Marxism, feminism, and anti-fascism. For most of their career, the band had a 7–8 piece lineup and drew from a wide range of musical styles, including punk rock, pop, and folk. ''English Rebel Songs'' is the third studio album by English band Chumbawamba. It was originally released on LP and cassette in 1988 as ''English Rebel Songs 1381–1914''. This version was released on CD in 1994 by One Little Indian Records. It was re-recorded in 2003, with two additional tracks, as ''English Rebel Songs 1381–1984'', released on the band's newly formed MUTT Records label. Composed mostly of traditional English protest songs, the recording was a stark contrast to the group's previous punk recordings, pointing towards the band's future integration of choral and a cappella music, as well as a greater focus on harmony in their musical sound. The 2003 recording added some light instrumentation on some tracks. Enough Is Enough is an anti-fascist protest single from Chumbawamba and Credit to the Nation, on Chumbawamba's album ''Anarchy''. It reached #56 on UK charts in 1993 and was supported by a music video. History The b-side, "Hear No Bullshit (On Fire Mix)", is a remix of the Credit to the Nation single "Hear No Bullshit See No Bullshit Say No Bullshit" released the same year, and samples Chumbawamba's Song "Mouthful of Shit" from their album ''Anarchy''. "Tubthumping" is a song by British rock band Chumbawamba, released in August 1997 by EMI, Universal Records (1995), Universal and Republic Records as the first single from their eighth studio album, ''Tubthumper'' (1997). It is the band's most successful single, peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart. ''A Singsong and a Scrap'' is the 12th studio album by Chumbawamba released in 2005. It shows more folk influence than their previous album '' Un'' and features guest appearances from folk musicians such as Coope Boyes and Simpson, Andy Cutting and John Jones and Ian Telfer of Oysterband. The first single to be taken from the album is "Fade Away". "Timebomb" is a single from Chumbawamba's album ''Anarchy''. It reached #59 on UK Charts in 1993. The album version of "Timebomb" combined elements of both the main single version and the "Techno Timebomb" remix, which was included as a B-side on this single. The chorus of the song is derived from Stephen Stills' Buffalo Springfield song "For What It's Worth" . The single also includes a cover of Leon Rosselson's 1975 song "The World Turned Upside Down", which was originally made popular by fellow English singer/songwriter Billy Bragg. Anarchy (Chumbawamba Album)
''Anarchy'' is the sixth studio album by anarcho-punk band Chumbawamba. Many of the tracks address specific social issues, such as homophobia, strikes or fascism. Its graphic cover, depicting a baby's head emerging from a vagina, prompted the record to be banned from some shops and stocked in plain sleeves in others. The Spotify and iTunes version, as well as the Japanese physical edition of the album replaces the baby picture with a painting of red roses. Critical reception In a review for AllMusic, Chris Nickson praised the album's "intelligence" and stylistic diversity, but the album was only awarded three stars. "Homophobia" is a song by English rock band Chumbawamba from their sixth studio album ''Anarchy'' (1994). A remixed version of the song featuring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, titled the "Sisters Mix" was released as the third single from the album in 1994. Concerning the topic of modern homophobia, the song remained a regular part of Chumbawamba's live set from its initial release in 1994 up to the band's retirement in 2012. David Michael Gordon "Davey" Graham (originally spelled Davy Graham) (26 November 1940 – 15 December 2008) was a British guitarist and one of the most influential figures in the 1960s British folk revival. ''Readymades'' is the tenth studio album by Chumbawamba. It also features vocal samples from contemporary and traditional folk artists, some of whom Chumbawamba would go on to work with in the future. The album's title refers to the use of everyday objects as art by Marcel Duchamp. The album's artwork pays a homage to the ''I Have Nothing to Say And I'm Saying It'' poster designed by Alan Fletcher, which was in turn a self-portrait of German Dadaist John Heartfield (born Helmut Herzfelde).
