Ginetta Cars Limited is a British specialist builder of racing and sports cars based in Garforth, Leeds, West Yorkshire. History 20th century Ginetta was founded in 1958 by four Walklett brothers (Bob, Ivor, Trevers and Douglas) in Woodbridge, Suffolk. The first car was built in 1957 and subsequently became known as the Ginetta G1; it was based on a pre-war Wolseley Hornet six. The first car built was the 1958 Ginetta G2, a cycle-fendered "special" using Ford 10 HP mechanicals. The Walklett Brothers briefly also offered a kit car body called the Fairlite, a glass-fibre body shell priced at £49 for fitting to a Ford 8 or 10 HP chassis. The Ginetta G56 is a British sportscar created by Ginetta Cars. It is the successor to Ginetta G55. GT4 In 2021, Ginetta launched the Ginetta G56 GT4, replacing the old and highly successful Ginetta G55 GT4. The car competes primarily in the British GT Championship in the GT4 Category. The car features a Ginetta built 6.2 litre V8 engine, with a power output of 500 hp. GT4 Evo On November 1, 2023, Ginetta unveiled the G56 GT4 EVO, designed for 2024 onward. This car is an evolution of the G56, and features updated bodywork, most notably the front bonnet, and the rear wing being changed. The Ginetta GT4 Supercup is a one-make racing, Sports car racing series based in the United Kingdom, using identical Ginetta G50 and G55 sports cars. The championship supported the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) until the end of the 2022 season, then became a class in the British Endurance Championship run by Britcar. The championship began as the Ginetta G50 Cup in 2008, supporting the British Formula Three Championship and British GT Championship. In 2009 it moved to support the BTCC. In 2011, with the introduction of the Ginetta G55, the championship became the Ginetta GT Supercup, running a multi class format for the two different cars. Ginetta G55
The Ginetta G55 is a specialist sports car, which has been built by Ginetta Cars since 2011. It is built to the FIA GT3 regulations, and the cars are raced in a one-make series; the Ginetta GT Supercup. In addition to this, they are also used in the GT3 class of competitions such as the British GT Championship. It was an evolutionary update of the Ginetta G50, which is a GT4-class car. Cup Ginetta Cars announced in November 2010 that they were going to be building a new sports car, and named it as the G55. In February 2011, the car was released, as a more powerful evolution of the G50. The G55 featured a Ford-sourced 3.7 litre V6, producing 370 hp, in addition to a 6-speed sequential manual gearbox, built by Hewland. The Ginetta F400, previously known as the Farbio GTS, and originally developed by Arash Motor Company as the Farboud GTS, was a sports car produced by the British car manufacturer Ginetta Cars. It was the first car planned for production by Farbio Sports Cars until the rights of the car were sold to Ginetta in 2010.
