Gilligan's Planet
''Gilligan's Planet'' is an American Saturday morning animated series produced by Filmation and MGM/UA Television which aired during the 1982–1983 season on CBS. It was the second animated spin-off of the sitcom ''Gilligan's Island'' (the first being '' The New Adventures of Gilligan''). ''Gilligan's Planet'' was the last cartoon series that Filmation produced for Saturday mornings; afterwards, they transitioned from Saturday mornings to producing cartoons exclusively for syndication. It was also the first Filmation series to feature the Lou Scheimer "signature" credit (as opposed to the rotating Lou Scheimer/ Norm Prescott "wheel" credit which had been used since 1969). In addition, it was one of the last 1980s Saturday morning cartoons to be fitted with an adult laugh track, as the popularity of the practice had subsided. Hal Sutherland
Harold H. "Hal" Sutherland (July 1, 1929 – January 16, 2014) was an American animator and painter who began his career as a Disney animator in 1954 working on ''Sleeping Beauty (1959 film), Sleeping Beauty'', ''Lady and the Tramp'', ''Peter Pan (1953 film), Peter Pan'' and the last theatrical short that featured Donald Duck. He gained recognition in the late 1960s as a director of animated productions at Filmation. Early life He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1929. Career One of the company's three co-founders, Sutherland had a hand in a large number of Filmation's limited animation productions which were broadcast as Saturday morning cartoons. Norm Prescott
Norman Zachary Prescott (born Pransky; January 31, 1927 – July 2, 2005) was co-founder and executive producer at Filmation Associates, an animation studio he created with veteran animator Lou Scheimer. Life and career Born to a Polish Jewish family in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, his birth name was Norman Zachary Pransky. His father Edward was a tailor and a shirt-maker. A graduate of Boston Latin School and Boston University, he began his career as a disc jockey. His first radio job, c. 1947, was at WHEB in Portsmouth NH. In 1948 he joined WHDH, and in October 1950, he became program director at station WORL. Paul McClaran Dini (; born August 7, 1957) is an American writer, animator, and comic book artist. He has served as a producer and writer for several Warner Bros. Tom Ruegger
Tom Ruegger () is an American animator and songwriter. Ruegger is known for his association with Disney Television Animation and Warner Bros. Animation. He also created ''Tiny Toon Adventures'', ''Animaniacs'', '' Pinky and the Brain'', and '' Histeria!''. Early life and career Ruegger was raised in Metuchen, New Jersey. During his childhood, he made drawings of ''The Flintstones'' when it aired. He graduated from Metuchen High School in 1972.
