Gender Mainstreaming
Gender mainstreaming is the public policy concept of assessing the implications for people of different genders of a planned policy action, including legislation and programmes. The concept of gender mainstreaming was first proposed at the 1985 Third World Conference on Women and has subsequently been pushed in the United Nations development community. The idea was formally featured in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women, and was cited in the document that resulted from the conference, the Beijing Platform for Action. Shih Hsin University
Shih Hsin University (SHU; ) is a university in Taipei, Taiwan. SHU is best known for its media and mass communication departments in Taiwan, founded in Muzha, Taipei in 1956. History Shih Hsin University was re-established in Taiwan in 1956 as Shih Hsin School of Journalism by the journalists and publishers Cheng Shewo and Yeh Ming-hsun. Originally an institution devoted to training professional journalists, the school became a full-fledged university in August 1997. Now it has four colleges, including the College of Journalism and Communication, the School of Management, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Law, and with an enrollment of around 10,000 students. The National Alliance of Taiwan Women's Associations (NATWA) (''Chinese:'' 臺灣婦女團體全國聯合會) is the only umbrella group for organizations promoting women's interests across the island of Taiwan. Sexism
