Robert Schindel
Robert Schindel (born 4 April 1944) is an Austrian lyricist, director and author. Life and career Robert Schindel was born on 4 April 1944 in Bad Hall, Upper Austria to Jewish communist parents. From 1950 to 1954, he attended elementary school and then the Bundesrealgymnasium in Vienna. In 1959, Robert Schindel left the Gymnasium; he was "''entlassen wegen schlechter Führung''" ("dismissed because of poor conduct") and began an apprenticeship as a bookseller at Globus-Verlag in Vienna, which he broke off. This was followed by trips to Paris and Sweden, where he made his way as a dishwasher among other things. According to his own statement, he was a member of the Communist Party of Austria from 1961 to 1967. In 1967, Schindel caught up with his Matura, studied philosophy and law for two semesters and was involved in Maoism, Maoist circles. August Zirner (born 7 January 1956) is an American-Austrian actor, who starred in over 60 film productions. He is one of the most popular actors in Germany. Biography Zirner was born as son of Austrian Jewish immigrants in the United States in Urbana, Illinois. His father had fled from the Nazis. In 1976 he studied drama at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna before he made his debut as an actor at the Volkstheater in Vienna. Austria has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1961. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non- English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since. This is a list of submissions to the 75th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is handed out annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non- English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. For the 75th Academy Awards fifty-four films were submitted. Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Chad submitted films for the first time. The previous year's winner Bosnia & Herzegovina did not submit a film. The Brazilian submission, '' City of God'' was considered one of the favorites, but it was famously snubbed. Bruno Dallansky
Bruno Dallansky (19 September 1928 – 5 August 2008) was an Austrian actor who was best known for his television and stage roles. In addition to his film and stage appearances, Dallansky taught acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1965 until 1990. He also headed the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, Germany from 1979 until 1983. Dallansky was married to actress Judith Holzmeister from 1955 until 1961 and the couple had one child. Dallansky and Holzmeister separated in 1961, but never divorced. Holzmeister died on 23 June 2008. Dallansky died a few weeks later in Vienna (5 August 2008). Otto Tausig (13 February 1922 – 10 October 2011) was an Austrian writer, director and actor. Although he usually appeared in German language films, he also played in English language films such as ''Love Comes Lately'', and in French language films such as ''La Reine Margot (1994 film), La Reine Margot'' and ''Place Vendôme (film), Place Vendôme''. Life and career Tausig was the son of Jewish female author Franziska Tausig. Annemarie Düringer
Annemarie Düringer (26 November 1925 – 26 November 2014) was a Swiss actress. She was born in Arlesheim, Basel-Landschaft. The daughter of a Swiss industrialist, she graduated from Cours Simon, Paris in 1946, and from the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna the following year, in 1947. In 1949 she became a member of the prestigious Vienna Burgtheater where she played major roles such as Queen Elisabeth in Schiller's '' Maria Stuart''. She remained in the ensemble of this theatre until her death. In 2004 she became patron of the Murau festival Shakespeare in Styria founded by Nicholas Allen and Rudolph J. Wojta. She received numerous awards, including the Decoration for Services to the Republic of Austria. She died on her 89th birthday in Baden bei Wien, Lower Austria. Since his start in the late 1980s, he has hundreds of film, television, and theatrical credits. Between 1993 and 2011, he received ten acting awards. Edward Kłosiński
Edward Stefan Kłosiński (; 2 January 1943, in Warsaw – 5 January 2008, in Milanówek) was a Polish cinematographer. Life and work Kłosiński completed his studies at the National Film School in Lodz in 1967. His screen debut came in 1972; in 1973 he worked for the first time with Krzysztof Zanussi. Andrzej Wajda hired him in 1974 for the debut of his first film, ''The Promised Land (1975 film), The Promised Land''. Since his work with Wajda in the 1970s Kłosiński became one of the foremost Polish cinematographers, enjoying international success. Besides that film, he also worked as lighting director for theatre productions by Wajda, Magda Umer, Andrzej Domalik, and Krystyna Janda. In Germany, he regularly worked with Dieter Wedel.
