Gavilán O Paloma
''Gavilán o Paloma'' (Hawk or Dove) is a 1985 Mexican drama film. The movie is titled after one of José José's greatest songs, which he recorded in 1977. The story chronicles the rise of this Mexican music icon from humble beginnings in Mexico City to international superstardom. The 1985 Mexico City earthquake struck in the early morning of 19 September at 07:17:50 (CST) with a Moment magnitude scale, moment magnitude of 8.0 and a maximal Modified Mercalli intensity scale, Mercalli intensity of IX (''Violent''). The event caused serious damage to the Greater Mexico City area and the deaths of at least 5,000 people. The sequence of events included a foreshock of magnitude 5.2 that occurred the prior May, the main shock on 19 September, and two large aftershocks. The first of these occurred on 20 September with a magnitude of 7.5 and the second occurred seven months later on 30 April 1986 with a magnitude of 7.0. Gina Romand (born Georgina García y Tamargo; 15 February 1938 – 3 December 2022) was a Cuban-Mexican actress. At the time of her death she was one of the last stars from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Life and career Romand was born as Georgina García y Tamargo on 15 February 1938 in Havana, Cuba. Her artistic career began in her native country as a star vedette of the Tropicana nightclub. Later she would move to the United States to dance in the show "La Parisien" held at the Casino de Paris, located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
