Garjanai
''Garjanai'' () is a 1981 Indian Tamil language film directed by C. V. Rajendran, starring Rajinikanth and Madhavi. The music was scored by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was simultaneously shot in Malayalam as ''Garjanam'' and in Kannada as ''Garjane'' (). All three versions of the film failed at the box office. ''Garjanai'' ran for 52 days in Chennai making it one of Rajinikanth's films with the shortest run in theatres. It marked Rajinikanth's last Malayalam and Kannada film role till date. Plot ''This is about the Tamil version only''. Dr. Vijay is an honest doctor who confronts a dangerous, diabolical gang led by Dr. Mithra and Parasuram. The gang contaminates common food items with lethal substances and profits by supplying antidotes. Geetha is Vijay's love interest, while Rekha is his sister. Geetha is an Indian actress who appears in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi films. She debuted in the Tamil film '' Bairavi'' (as Rajinikanth's sister). Leena Sequeira (1937 – 8 December 2023), known mononymously as Leelavathi, was an Indian actress, producer who worked predominantly in Kannada and Tamil films, in addition to few Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tulu films. Panchanathan Arunachalam (22 March 1941 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian writer, director, producer and lyricist who worked in the Tamil cinema. He was mentored by poet Kannadasan who was his uncle. He also worked as a lyricist in the Tamil cinema industry. He started producing films under his production banner named P. A. Arts. His son Subbu Panchu Arunachalam is an actor and dubbing artist in the Tamil film industry. Krishnan Madhavan Nair (25 July 1939 – 16 November 1980), better known by his stage name Jayan, born as the son of Madhavan Pillai (Kerala title), Pillai and Bharathiyamma in Kollam district, Kollam, was an Indian actor, Officer (armed forces), naval officer, and stunt performer of the 1970s and 1980s. Thengai Srinivasan (21 October 1937 – 9 November 1987) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil-language films and plays from the 1960s to the 1980s.
