Garfield's Feline Fantasies
''Garfield's Feline Fantasies'' is a 1989 American animated short based on the '' Garfield'' comic strip and is produced by Film Roman, United Media/ Mendelson, and Paws, Inc. It once again featured Lorenzo Music as the voice of Garfield. The animated short was first broadcast on May 18, 1990 on CBS and September 10, 1991 on CITV and was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program at the 42nd Primetime Emmy Awards. The events of the special take place between the second and third seasons of '' Garfield and Friends''. It has been released on both VHS and DVD home video. This was the eleventh of twelve Garfield animated television shorts made between 1985 and 1992. This is the only Garfield animated television short not to feature Lou Rawls. James Robert Davis (born July 28, 1945) is an American cartoonist, television writer, television producer, screenwriter, and film producer. He is best known as the creator of the comic strips ''Garfield'' and ''U.S. Acres''. Published since 1978, ''Garfield'' is one of the world's most widely syndicated comic strips. Davis's other comics work includes ''Tumbleweeds'', '' Gnorm Gnat'', and ''Mr. Potato Head''. Walter Jackson Mitty is a fictional character in James Thurber's first short story " The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", first published in ''The New Yorker'' on March 18, 1939, and in book form in '' My World—and Welcome to It'' in 1942. Thurber loosely based the character, a daydreamer, on himself. It was made into a film in 1947 starring Danny Kaye, with a remake in 2013 directed by, and starring Ben Stiller. Louis Allen Rawls (December 1, 1933 – January 6, 2006) was an American record producer, singer, composer and actor. The Garfield television specials are a series of twelve half-hour long American animated television specials based on the ''Garfield'' comic strip of the same name created by Jim Davis. All twelve specials were directed by Phil Roman, written by Davis, and featuring the voice of Lorenzo Music as the character. The specials were originally broadcast on CBS from 1982 to 1991. ''Garfield and Friends'' is an American animated television series based on the comic strip ''Garfield'' by Jim Davis. The show aired on CBS as part of its Saturday morning children's lineup from September 17, 1988 to December 10, 1994. The show features animated story lines adapted from the comic strip ''Garfield'' and Davis's other comic strip '' U.S. Acres''. Mark Evanier was the show's head writer. Lorenzo Music provided the voice of Garfield the cat, the strip's title character, as he had done since ''Here Comes Garfield'' in 1982.
