Cosmic Ray
Cosmic rays or astroparticles are high-energy particles or clusters of particles (primarily represented by protons or atomic nuclei) that move through space at nearly the speed of light. They originate from the Sun, from outside of the Solar System in our own galaxy, and from distant galaxies. Upon impact with Earth's atmosphere, cosmic rays produce showers of secondary particles, some of which reach the surface, although the bulk are deflected off into space by the magnetosphere or the heliosphere. Cosmic rays were discovered by Victor Hess in 1912 in balloon experiments, for which he was awarded the 1936 Nobel Prize in Physics. Direct measurement of cosmic rays, especially at lower energies, has been possible since the launch of the first satellites in the late 1950s. Green Corn Revival
Green Corn Revival (often abbreviated GCR) was an American rock band from Weatherford, Oklahoma. History Formation and ''The Oklahoma EP'' (2009-2010) Green Corn Revival was first formed in early 2009 by singer/songwriter Jared Deck. After disbanding his previous project, alternative rock band The Voice Of, Deck and drummer Kenny Holloway began writing and arranging the songs that would become the genesis of Green Corn Revival. The pair were soon joined by The Voice Of bassist Ryan Houck, and the three would become the core of GCR's earliest lineup, which also included Houck's wife Natalie as vocalist, keyboardist Caleb Creed and lead guitarist Kyle Burrows. This lineup would release the three-song ''Oklahoma EP'' in August 2009. By February 2010, Burrows had left the band, replaced by Stephen Rozzell. The Gray City Rebels (GCR) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in São Paulo, Brazil. Founded in 2010, the league consists of a single travel team, which competes against teams from other leagues, and is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) (formerly known as the Nottingham Heritage Railway) is a heritage railway located at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre (NTHC), on the south side of the village of Ruddington, in Nottinghamshire. The route consists of almost of the former Great Central Main Line from Loughborough South Junction (with the Midland Main Line) to Fifty Steps Bridge and the site of Ruddington's former GCR station, plus a branch line from Fifty Steps Bridge to Ruddington Fields station which is located on a former Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence site next to Rushcliffe Country Park. There are stations open to the public at Ruddington Fields (within the main centre site) and at Rushcliffe Halt railway station, Rushcliffe Halt. The Great Central Railway (GCR) is a heritage railway in Leicestershire, England, named after the company that originally built this stretch of railway. It runs for between the town of Loughborough and a new terminus in the north of Leicester. It has period signalling, locomotives and rolling stock. The barycentric celestial reference system (BCRS) is a coordinate system used in astrometry to specify the location and motions of astronomical objects. Its center of coordinates as the center of mass of the entire Solar System, its barycenter. It was created in 2000 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to be the global standard reference system for objects located outside the gravitational vicinity of Earth: planets, moons, and other Solar System bodies, stars and other objects in the Milky Way galaxy, and extra-galactic objects.
