G-Men '75
was a long-running prime-time popular television detective series in Japan. It aired on Saturday nights in the 9:00–9:54 p.m. time slot on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) network from May 24, 1975 to April 3, 1982. A sequel, ''G-Men '82'', followed, as did the specials. It had also been broadcast in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Since Hong Kong was one of the filming locations, it was very popular there. With several updates and cast changes, it ran for 7 years. Selected episodes are available on DVD. Plot The story revolved around a special detective agency, the eponymous G-Men. The principal character, who spanned the entire series (and continued into the sequel and specials), was Superintendent Tetsuya Kuroki, who was portrayed by Tetsurō Tamba. Kuroki directed the members of the group. The original cast also included Yasuaki Kurata as Detective Yasuaki Kusano, trained in karate. Masatoshi Nakamura
is a Japanese actor and singer from Onagawa, Miyagi. He graduated from Keio University. Nakamura joined the Bungakuza theater troupe in 1973 and made his television debut in 1974 with "Warera Seishun. Masatoshi made his film debut with "Fureai" in the same year . He won his first major award at the Elan d'or Awards in 1975. In 1977, he married actress Junko Igarashi. In 2012, he played the role of Fumimaro Konoe in the Peter Webber's film ''Emperor''. Kyoko Enami
was a Japanese film and television actress. Career Enami was the daughter of the actress Kazuko Enami. She joined the Daiei Film studio in 1959 and made her screen debut in 1960 with ''Ashita kara otona da''. Her first starring role as Noboriryū no Ogin in ''Onna no toba'' (1966) was a major hit, and developed into the "Woman Gambler" series that totaled 17 films. She also had serious roles, and won the best actress award from Kinema Junpo for ''Tsugaru Jongarabushi'' (1973). She died rather suddenly at a Tokyo hospital on 27 October 2018 of pulmonary emphysema, having performed on a radio drama only five days before. Yūsuke Kawazu
was a Japanese actor. Life and career Kawazu was born in Tokyo on 12 May 1935. While still a student at Keio University, Kawazu signed with Shochiku in 1958 and debuted in Keisuke Kinoshita, Kinoshita's ''The Eternal Rainbow''. He became one of the studio's leading young stars, notably headlining Nagisa Ōshima, Ōshima's ''Cruel Story of Youth'' in 1960. In later years he turned to character roles in film and television, also writing several books and establishing a reputation in calligraphy, painting, ceramics, and cooking. On 26 February 2022, he died of chronic heart failure at age 86.
