Being the boss of the Finance Division, the secretary plays an important part in shaping the country's economic and financial policies. The position holder is a BPS-22 grade officer, usually belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service. The current finance secretary is Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh. The finance secretary is assisted by six additional secretaries of grade 21, the most number of deputies any secretary has in the federal government, due to the enormous amount of workload. Naveed Kamran Baloch is a retired Pakistani civil servant who served in BPS-22 grade as the Cabinet Secretary and Finance Secretary of Pakistan. Baloch belonged to the Pakistan Administrative Service and was promoted to the rank of Federal Secretary in October 2017. The Commission comes under Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms. Tariq Bajwa
Tariq Bajwa is a retired Pakistani civil servant who served in BPS-22 grade as the Finance Secretary and Economic Affairs Secretary of Pakistan. Bajwa also served as the 19th Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and the 20th Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue.
