Fate Takes A Hand
''Fate Takes a Hand'' is a 1961 British anthology drama film. Plot The recovery of a mail bag stolen in a robbery 15 years before has varying consequences on the lives of five of the recipients of the letters, when the post office decide that the mail should be delivered. Several lives are changed, as witnessed by a newspaper reporter, accompanied by a post office security officer, who decide to follow up on several of the letters. Max Varnel (21 March 1925 – 15 January 1996) was a French-born Australian film and television director who worked primarily in the United Kingdom and Australia. Biography Born Max Le Bozec in Paris, France, he was the son of the film director Marcel Varnel. He began his career as an assistant director of ''The Magic Box'' (1951) and continued in this rol for ''The Card'' (1952), ''Devil Girl from Mars'' (1954), and ''The Cockleshell Heroes'' (1955), among others. Michael Anthony, (born Michael Gould, Jr.) also known by the stage name Mike Bless, is an American actor, singer-songwriter, and former serviceman in the United States Armed Forces. He is known for appearing in TV series such as ''Raising Dion'', ''Chicago Med'', ''Big 50 – The Delronda Hood Story'', and ''Ready to Love''. Walter Peter Swanwick (29 September 1922 – 14 November 1968) was a British actor best remembered as the "Supervisor" (sometimes called the Controller) in the 1967 TV series, ''The Prisoner''. Brian Cobby (12 October 192931 October 2012) was an English actor and telephone exchange worker who, in 1985, became the first male voice of the British speaking clock. Early life Cobby was born in Gravesend, Kent, the son of Amy and Sydney Cobby, a retail manager. Sydney had hoped to serve in the Royal Navy like his father and grandfather before him, but was unable to join due to a ruptured eardrum. He instead joined Woolworths and moved around the country managing its stores, finally transferring from Gravesend to Oxford, where Brian spent most of his early years. Cobby started singing while attending Ealing Academy, before becoming a chorister at Worcester College, Oxford and, later, the City of Oxford High School for Boys, where he won a competition to perform at St Paul's Cathedral.
