Fulke Lovell (or Fulk Lovel; died 1285) was a medieval Bishop of London-elect. Fulke Greville, 1st Baron Brooke
Fulke Greville, 1st Baron Brooke (; 3 October 1554 – 30 September 1628) was an Elizabethan poet, dramatist, and statesman who served in the House of Commons at various times between 1581 and 1621, when he was raised to the peerage. Greville was a capable administrator who served the English Crown under Elizabeth I and James I as, successively, treasurer of the navy, chancellor of the exchequer, and commissioner of the Treasury, and who for his services was in 1621 made Baron Brooke, peer of the realm. Greville was granted Warwick Castle in 1604, making numerous improvements. Greville is best known today as the biographer of Sir Philip Sidney, and for his sober poetry, which presents dark and thoughtful views on art, literature, beauty and other philosophical matters. He was the son of Algernon Greville and Mary Somerset, daughter and coheiress of Lord Arthur Somerset, the youngest son of Henry Somerset, 1st Duke of Beaufort. Colonel Fulke Southwell Greville-Nugent, 1st Baron Greville (17 February 1821 – 25 January 1883), known as Fulke Greville until 1866, was an Irish Liberal politician. Early life Greville was the second son of Algernon Greville, Esq., of North Lodge in Hertford, and the former Caroline Graham. His mother was the second daughter of Sir Bellingham Graham, 6th Baronet. He was a member of a junior branch of the Greville family headed by the Earl of Warwick. He served as an officer in the 1st Life Guards, and in 1850 was appointed Colonel of the disembodied Westmeath Militia. He became the regiment's Honorary Colonel in 1875. Fulke Johnson Houghton
Richard Fulke Johnson Houghton (9 May 1940 – 13 February 2025) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse trainer. He trained over 1,200 winners in a career which lasted from 1961 until 2006. The best of his horses included Ribocco, Ribero, Habitat, Rose Bowl, Ile de Bourbon and Double Form. Background Johnson Houghton was born on 9 May 1940 in Malpas, Cheshire, to the trainer Gordon Johnson Houghton and his wife Helen. He was named after his mother's twin brother Fulke Walwyn. Johnson Houghton was educated at Eton College before working as an assistant trainer in Britain and France. When Gordon Johnson Houghton died in 1952 Helen took over the Woodway stable at Blewbury in Berkshire but under Jockey Club rules, women were not allowed to hold a training licence. She therefore managed the yard through assistants including Charles Jerdein and Peter Walwyn. Fulke Underhill (1578–1599) was the son of William Underhill II of Warwickshire, owner of New Place in Stratford-Upon-Avon. His father sold New Place to William Shakespeare in 1597, and his brother Hercules Underhill confirmed the sale in 1602. Fulke was alleged to have murdered his father by poison, but sources differ on whether he was accused, tried, and hanged, or accused only after his death; see below. Fulke Thomas Tyndall Walwyn CVO (8 November 1910 – 18 February 1991) was a British jockey and a celebrated racehorse trainer, who was particularly successful in National Hunt racing. Life Walwyn was born in Wrexham. His twin sister, Helen Johnson Houghton (1910–2012), was a racehorse owner and trainer who was one of the first women elected as a member of the Jockey Club. Their cousin, Peter Walwyn (1933–2017), was also a racehorse trainer. Pierre Olof Fulke (born 21 February 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the European Tour. Early life and amateur career Fulke was born in Nyköping. He came to represent Eksjö Golf Club, situated in the province of Småland in Sweden, through his entire career. 14 years old, he qualified for the 1985 unofficial Swedish Youth Championship (Colgate Cup) at his age level and finished 8th. He represented Sweden twice at the European Boys' Team Championship and the continent of Europe once at Jacques Léglise Trophy. Lieutenant-Colonel Hon. Robert Fulke Greville FRS (3 February 1751 – 27 April 1824) was a British Army officer, courtier and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1774 and 1807. Life He was the third son of Francis Greville, 1st Earl of Warwick, and his wife, the former Elizabeth Hamilton, he was a younger brother of George Greville, 2nd Earl of Warwick, and of Charles Francis Greville. He was educated at the University of Edinburgh. He was commissioned as a cornet in the 10th Dragoons in 1768, and promoted to lieutenant in 1772; he transferred to the 1st Foot Guards in April 1775 and became captain the same year, then lieutenant-colonel in 1777. He saw little or no active service and perhaps the most notable aspect of his army career was as an equerry to King George III from 1781 to 1797. Robert Fulke Greville (landowner)
Robert Fulke Greville (8 January 1800 – 12 September 1867) was a politician, soldier and landowner of the early Victorian era, the son of Regency courtier Robert Fulke Greville and Louisa, 2nd Countess of Mansfield. Greville stood as a Parliamentary candidate for Pembrokeshire in the general election of 1831, but was defeated, and went to live abroad, embarking on a military career. Returning to Milford Haven in 1853, he took up residence in Castle Hall. He served as High Sheriff of Pembrokeshire for 1854. He made great efforts to have the railway extended to the town of Milford Haven, which had been founded by his great-uncle Sir William Hamilton, and aided by his nephew, Charles Francis Greville (Robert's uncle). He constructed a pier and other facilities to encourage sea traffic with Ireland. He also constructed gasworks and waterworks, eventually running out of money for improvements and dying in debt.
