Frank 'Bucket' H. Young (c. 1885 – 1941) was a Welsh rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1900s and 1910s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Glamorgan, and at club level for Cardiff RFC, London Welsh RFC and Bristol Rugby, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain and Wales, and at club level for Leeds, as a . Background Young was born in Cardiff, Wales. Playing career Rugby union Young was a promising player for Cardiff, playing in the reserves before being promoted to the senior team. Young only played one senior season, and may have achieved more but was kept out of the squad by Bert Winfield, one of the greatest Welsh kickers of all time. The 1909–10 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the 15th season of rugby league football. Season summary Aberdare, Barry and Mid-Rhondda had dropped out, leaving 28 teams. Oldham won their second Championship this season. After finishing top of the regular season table, they went on to beat Wigan 13-7 in the play-off final. The Challenge Cup Winners were Leeds who defeated Hull F.C. 26-12 in replay after a 7-7 draw. At the close of the season, the Northern Union's leading players were selected to go on the 1910 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand. The 1910–11 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the 16th season of rugby league football. Season summary Oldham won their third Championship, and second in a row, after defeating Wigan 20-7 in the Play Off Final. Wigan had ended the regular season in the top position, but only after it had been decided by a one-off play-off with Oldham that Wigan won 11-3. The Challenge Cup winners were Broughton Rangers who defeated Wigan 4-0. Coventry replaced Treherbert. Wigan won the Lancashire League, and Wakefield Trinity won the Yorkshire League.
