Francisco Martínez (footballer, Born 1986)
Francisco Daniel Martínez (born 4 April 1986) is an Argentine football manager and former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is currently the reserve manager at Sarmiento. Playing career Martínez started his career with local club Sarmiento, appearing three times as the club were relegated from the 2004–05 Primera B Nacional; he remained for three further years in Primera B Metropolitana. Argentine Primera División side Arsenal de Sarandí completed the signing of Martínez in 2008, though the defender departed a year later without featuring for their senior team. In 2009, Martínez joined Primera B Nacional's Sportivo Italiano. Four fixtures arrived, including his debut on 29 November against Unión Santa Fe. He had a stint back with Sarmiento in 2011, which took his overall tally there to forty-six matches and four goals. 2012 saw Temperley of Primera B Metropolitana sign Martínez. Junín () is a city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and administrative seat of the '' partido'' of Junín. It has a population of 85,420 () and is located west of the city of Buenos Aires. The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. Each tournament was contested by the same 20 teams in a single round-robin format. The champions of each tournament is determined by points. The Primera C Metropolitana is one of the two professional leagues that form the fourth level of the Argentine football league system. Primera C Metropolitana is made up of 20 clubs, mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area (Greater Buenos Aires). The other league at level four is the Torneo Federal B, where teams from regional leagues take part. Format Primera C is currently organised into two league tournaments, the Apertura and Clausura, Apertura (opening) and the Apertura and Clausura, Clausura (closing). Each team plays every other team once in the Apertura, and then once again at the reverse venue in the Clausura. The winners of the two league titles are recognised as champions. Torneo Argentino B
Torneo Argentino B was one of two leagues that form the fourth level of the Argentine football league system, made up of 100+ teams playing within eight regional zones across Argentina. The other league at level four wasand still isthe Primera C Metropolitana, which is a competition for the numerous clubs in the city of Buenos Aires and the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area. The Torneo Argentino B season would end with the top teams from each zone playing in cross-over playoffs, culminating with overall champions and a number of teams (varied by season) eligible for promotion to the following season's Torneo Argentino A competition.
