Françoise Adnet
Françoise Adnet (30 June 1924 – 9 March 2014) was a French figurative painter born in Paris. She originally was a professional pianist, but gradually switched to painting by 1951. Her works, created over a period of 50 years, have been exhibited many times and are held are in various museums and private collections. The pieces follow two main themes: female figures and cityscapes. Her figurative works are considered her best work, exhibiting a distinctive technique. Adnet was married to Max Fourny, the art collector and gallerist. A museum of naive art is now housed in their former home. Max Fourny
Max Fourny (4 August 1904 – 9 March 1991) was a French publisher, art collector and former motor racing driver. He founded the Musée d'Art Naïf – Max Fourny in Paris, which houses an important collection of naïve paintings and sculptures from around the world. Claude Debussy
Achille Claude Debussy (; 22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionism in music, Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term. He was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born to a family of modest means and little cultural involvement, Debussy showed enough musical talent to be admitted at the age of ten to France's leading music college, the Conservatoire de Paris. He originally studied the piano, but found his vocation in innovative composition, despite the disapproval of the Conservatoire's conservative professors. Adnet
Adnet is a town in the district of Hallein, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is famous for its marble and there is a marble museum in the middle of the town. Geography Adnet is situated near Hallein in the metropolitan area of Salzburg. Urban districts are: Adnet, Riedl, Spumberg, Waidach, Wimberg. Francis Gruber
Francis Gruber (15 March 1912 – 1 December 1948) was a French painter, founder of the ''Nouveau Réalisme'' school, and a member of the ''Forces nouvelles'' group. He was born in Nancy, France, the son of stained glass artist Jacques Gruber. He began painting at the age of 12, and he first exhibited at 18. While other artists were becoming more and more abstract, he preferred to paint human figures that were highly sculpted. He was influenced by Hieronymus Bosch and Albrecht Dürer and the Lorraine (province), Lorraine engraver Jacques Callot. In 1936, he had his first solo exhibition at the Académie Ranson. In the late 1930s, Gruber became friends with the Switzerland, Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti, of whom he was a neighbor. Gruber's later work often focuses on melancholy subjects. Jean Jansem
Hovhannes "Jean" Semerdjian (, 9 March 1920 – 27 August 2013), also known as Jean Jansem, was a French-Armenian painter. Jansem's artworks are internationally known, and are part of museum collections throughout France, Japan and the United States. A Foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (2002). He was awarded by the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1953 and by the Knight of the French Legion of Honour in 2003. Bernard Buffet
Bernard Buffet (; 10 July 1928 – 4 October 1999) was a French painter, printmaker, and sculptor. An extremely prolific artist, he produced a varied and extensive body of work. His style was exclusively figurative and is often classified as Expressionist or "miserabilist". Buffet enjoyed worldwide popularity in the 1950s and was often compared to Pablo Picasso for his fame and talent. By the end of the 1950s, however, the public and art community turned strongly against him due to changing artistic tastes, Buffet's lavish lifestyle, and his extremely prolific output.
