Football In Slovenia
Football in Slovenia is governed by the Football Association of Slovenia (). Slovenia has been participating in international football as an independent country since 1991, when the country gained independence from SFR Yugoslavia. The Slovenia national football team has qualified for four major tournaments (UEFA Euro 2000, 2002 FIFA World Cup, 2010 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2024). The three biggest clubs in Slovenia are Maribor, Mura and Olimpija. History Early history Since being part of Austria-Hungary, football came to the territories that are today part of Slovenia in the late 19th century from Vienna. The Football Association of Slovenia ( or NZS) is the governing body of football in Slovenia. It organizes the Slovenian PrvaLiga, first division (1. SNL), Slovenian Second League, second division (2. NK Nafta
Nogometni klub Nafta Lendava (), commonly referred to as NK Nafta Lendava or simply Nafta, was a Slovenian football club which played in the town of Lendava. The club was founded under the Hungarian name Lendvai Football Egyesület in 1903. Lendava
Lendava (; formerly ''Dolnja Lendava'', in older sources also ''Dolenja Lendava''; , formerly ''Alsólendva''; , formerly ''Unter-Limbach'') is a town in Slovenia in the region of Prekmurje. Nogometna šola Mura (), commonly referred to as NŠ Mura or simply Mura, is a Slovenian professional football club from Murska Sobota.
