Slovakia has participated in international football as an independent nation ever since 1993 when Czechoslovakia was divided into two new states. Slovakia qualified to the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2010, where the side upset perennial power Italy and lost in the Round of 16. Samuel Kalu Ojim (born 26 August 1997) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as winger. He is currently a free agent. Club career Kalu started his football career at GBS Academy in Jos, Nigeria. Stanislav Lobotka (; born 25 November 1994) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Serie A club Napoli and the Slovakia national team. Milan Škriniar (born 11 February 1995) is a Slovak professional Association football, footballer who plays as a centre-back for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain FC, Paris Saint-Germain and Captain (association football), captains the Slovakia national football team, Slovakia national team.
