The 1992 Football at the Summer Olympics, Summer Olympics Football Tournament competition at the 1992 Summer Olympics featured 16 national sides from the six continental confederations. The 16 teams were drawn into four groups of four and each group played a round-robin tournament. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams advanced to the knockout stage, beginning with the quarter-finals and culminating with the gold medal match at Camp Nou on 8 August 1992. For the first time, an age limit has been set for participants under the age of 23 (Under-23), which has been used ever since. Teslim Babatunde Fatusi (born 17 September 1977) is an olympic gold medalist and Nigerian international footballer who played as a winger for Miami Dade FC. Club career Born in Surulere, Lagos State, Fatusi began playing youth football with Honey Babes and Ibukun Oluwa. Wilson Oruma (born 30 December 1976) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent most of his career in France. Club career Oruma was born in Warri, Nigeria. Emmanuel Amunike (born 25 December 1970) is a Nigerian professional football manager and former footballer who played as a winger. Playing career Amunike played for Zamalek, Sporting CP, Barcelona, and Albacete. He played 28 times for Nigeria, scoring 10 goals. Uchechukwu Alozie "Uche" Okechukwu ( ; born 27 September 1967), also known as Deniz Uygar, is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Celestine Hycieth Babayaro (born 29 August 1978) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a left-back or a midfielder.
