The women's football tournament at the 2019 Pacific Games is being held from 8 to 20 July 2019. It is the 5th edition of the women's Pacific Games football tournament. Together with the men's competition, all matches are being played at the J.S. Blatter Stadium in Apia, Samoa. Torijan Lyne-Lewis is a New Zealand-born Samoan footballer who plays as a midfielder and a forward. She is a member of the Samoa women's national football team. In New Zealand, she plays for Palmerston North Marist FC. Lyne-Lewis was born in New Zealand and is of Samoan and Indonesian heritage. She works as an aquatic centre manager. Marielle Franco (; born Marielle Francisco da Silva, 27 July 1979 – 14 March 2018) was a Brazilian politician, sociologist, feminist, socialist and human rights activist. Franco served as a city councillor of the Municipal Chamber of Rio de Janeiro for the Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL) from January 2017 until her assassination. On 14 March 2018, while in a car after delivering a speech in the north of Rio de Janeiro, Franco and her driver were shot multiple times and killed by two former police officers travelling in another vehicle. The Fiji Football Association is the governing body of football in Fiji. It came into existence in 1961. It is the overseeing body of the Fiji National Team and its leagues.
