''Fons memorabilium universi'' ("Source of notable information about the universe") is an early encyclopedia, written in Latin by the Italian Renaissance humanism, humanist Domenico Bandini of Arezzo (also given as Domenico di Bandino or Dominicus Bandinus, c. 1335 – 1418). Planned to inform and edify educated men who lack other books, the work covered God and the natural world, as was common for encyclopedias of the time, but also added a voluminous last part dealing with man and historical figures, philosophy and history, theology, ethics, heretics and women. Bandini, a teacher of grammar and rhetoric who lived in Florence, Bologna, Città di Castello and Arezzo, worked on the encyclopedia from before 1374 until his death in 1418. In Florence he was influenced by Coluccio Salutati, causing him to emphasize topics related to the classical antiquity in his work. Fontus
Fontus or Fons (: ''Fontes'', "Font" or "Source") was a god of wells and springs in Religion in ancient Rome, ancient Roman religion. A Roman festivals, religious festival called the Fontinalia was held on October 13 in his honor. Throughout the city, fountains and Puteal, wellheads were adorned with garlands. Fontus was the son of Juturna and Janus (mythology), Janus. Numa Pompilius, second king of Rome, was supposed to have been buried near the altar of Fontus ''(Glossary of ancient Roman religion#ara, ara Fontis)'' on the Janiculum. William Warde Fowler observed that between 259 and 241 BC, cults were founded for Juturna, Fons, and the Tempestas, Tempestates, all having to do with sources of water. As a god of pure water, Fons can be placed in opposition to Liber as a god of wine identified with Bacchus. Leonard Fons
Leonard Casimir Fons (October 30, 1903May 25, 1956) was an American lawyer and Republican politician. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1931 to 1935 representing southern Milwaukee County. Biography Fons was born on October 30, 1903, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His father, Louis Fons, was also a member of the Senate, having represented the 8th District. Fons went to Marquette University High School and Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He then graduated from Marquette University and received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Fons practiced law in Milwaukee. Jorge Fons Pérez
Jorge Fons Pérez (23 April 1939 – 22 September 2022) was a Mexican film director. He belonged to the first generation of film directors of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His short film, ''Caridad'' (1973), is still considered one of the best films in Mexican cinema. Two of the most important films of his filmography are ''Rojo amanecer'' (1989) and '' El callejón de los milagros'' (1995) based on the homonymous book by Naguib Mahfouz, '' Midaq Alley'' of 1947 (زقاق المدق), which breaks the classic lineal plots in films. His 1976 film, ''Los albañiles'', won the Silver Bear at the 27th Berlin International Film Festival.
