Florida Championship Wrestling
Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) was a professional wrestling professional wrestling promotion, promotion based on the former National Wrestling Alliance member promotion, Championship Wrestling from Florida, which operated from 1961 until 1987. From October 2007 to August 2012, the promotion served as the official Farm team#Professional wrestling, developmental territory for WWE. In August 2012, WWE re-branded Florida Championship Wrestling into NXT (WWE brand), NXT for their developmental territory, with storylines and championships being discontinued. In March 2020 a documentary was released on WWE Network titled ''A Future WWE: The FCW Story'', about the professional wrestlers that came up through the FCW system. Florida Heavyweight Championship
The FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship was a professional wrestling heavyweight championship owned and promoted by Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), a former developmental territory of WWE. It was contested for in their heavyweight division. The championship was created and debuted on February 15, 2008, at a FCW house show. The first champion was Jake Hager who won a 23-man battle royal by defeating Ted DiBiase Jr. to become the first champion. On March 22, 2008, Hager defeated FCW Southern Heavyweight Champion Heath Miller to unify the two championships and retire the FCW Southern Heavyweight Championship. Bo Rotundo/Dallas holds the record for the most reigns with three reigns. Leo Kruger, Rick Victor and Bo Rotundo all hold the record for shortest reign, because all three have individually won and lost the title on the same day. NXT Wrestling
NXT is a developmental brand of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, serving as a training ground for wrestlers before they move to WWE's main roster on either Raw or SmackDown. Introduced on February 23, 2010, NXT features a separate roster of wrestlers who primarily appear on the brand's weekly television program, '' NXT''. Unlike Raw and SmackDown, which are affected by WWE's brand extension, NXT operates as a developmental system regardless of whether a brand split is in effect. Championship unification is the act of combining two or more separate professional wrestling championships into a single title. History In professional wrestling, championships may be unified to consolidate the number of championships in a given promotion, or to add legitimacy and prestige to a certain title's lineage.
