George Fitzhugh
George Fitzhugh (November 4, 1806 – July 30, 1881) was an American social theorist who published racial and slavery-based social theories in the antebellum era. He argued that the negro was "but a grown up child" needing the economic and social protections of slavery. Fitzhugh favorably contrasted slavery in the American South with capitalism in the Northern United States, decrying the latter as "a war of the rich with the poor, and the poor with one another", which rendered free blacks "far outstripped or outwitted in the chase of free competition." Slavery, he contended, ensured that blacks would be economically secure and morally civilized. Some historians consider Fitzhugh's worldview to be proto-fascist in its rejection of liberal values, defense of slavery, and perspectives toward race. Craig Fitzhugh
Calvin "Craig" Fitzhugh (born March 22, 1950) is an American politician. He was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing the 82nd District, which encompasses all of Crockett, Haywood and Lauderdale counties. He is a member of the Democratic Party and served as the House Minority Leader until January 2019. Biography Fitzhugh was born in Brownsville, Tennessee, in 1950 and raised in Ripley, Tennessee. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1968, where he played varsity baseball, football, and basketball. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance. Bruce Patrick Fitzhugh is an American musician. He is the second lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and founding member of Arkansas's Christian metal band Living Sacrifice. The lead vocalist role was left to Bruce shortly after the departure of Darren Johnson and prior to the recording of Living Sacrifice's 1997 album, '' Reborn''. Fitzhugh is featured in Zao's ''The Lesser Lights of Heaven'' DVD. Fitzhugh's nephew is Drew Garrison, Vocalist for Descended From Wolves and Becoming Saints. Everett "Fitz" Fitzhugh (born 1989) is an American sportscaster who is the radio play-by-play announcer for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League. Early life Fitzhugh is African American. He was born in Detroit and was adopted by his mother, a single parent. He grew up in northwest Detroit. He attended Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Bowling Green State University. He first developed an interest in hockey when, as a third grader, he watched a Detroit Red Wings–Edmonton Oilers game and noticed that the Oilers had two Black players, Mike Grier and Georges Laraque. Eugene C. Fitzhugh (May 11, 1926 – August 21, 2007) was an American lawyer and businessman from Little Rock, Arkansas. On June 23, 1994, he pleaded guilty to trying to bribe David Hale. In exchange for his bribery plea, he was sentenced to 28 months, and prosecutors dropped charges accusing him of conspiring to defraud the Small Business Administration. He also received one year of probation, a $3,000 fine and lost his law license. The guilty plea was part of Kenneth Starr's probe into what is known as the Whitewater investigation and report. He came into front page national news as a result of the Whitewater investigations. He was sentenced with his colleague Charles Matthews.
