The Finland women's national football team (, ), also known as nickname The Boreal Owls (), represents Finland in international Women's association football, women's football. The team, controlled by the Football Association of Finland (SPL/FBF), reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Euro 2005, 2005 European Championship, surprising the female football world having drawn with Sweden women's national football team, Sweden and beaten Denmark women's national football team, Denmark before losing to Germany women's national football team, Germany in the semifinals. Finland hosted the UEFA Women's Euro 2009, 2009 European Championship. Laura Österberg Kalmari
Laura Elina Österberg Kalmari (; born 27 May 1979) is a Finnish former professional footballer. Immediately prior to her retirement in early 2012, she had been playing as a forward for American Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) team Sky Blue FC. She is the Finland women's national football team's most capped player. Club career Österberg Kalmari played in Finnish clubs Puistolan Urheilijat, Malmin Palloseura and HJK before moving to the University of Portland in 2000. Kalmari returned to HJK to play in the inaugural UEFA Women's Cup in 2001–2002. HJK reached the semi-finals, and then she moved back to the United States to play with Boston Renegades in the W-League. Ullevaal Stadion () is an all-seater football stadium located in Oslo, Norway. It is the home ground of the Norway national football team, and the site of the Norwegian Cup Final. From its opening in 1926 to 2009 it was the home ground of FK Lyn and from 1999 to 2017 was a home ground of Vålerenga IF. With a capacity of approximately 28,000, it is the largest football stadium in Norway. The national stadium is fully owned by the Football Association of Norway (NFF). The UEFA Women's Euro 2025 qualifying competition was a women's Association football, football competition that determined the 15 teams joining the automatically qualified host Switzerland in the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 final tournament. Format The European Qualifiers started on 5 April 2024, following the conclusion of the 2023–24 UEFA Women's Nations League, 2023–24 Women's Nations League. The qualifiers were composed of a league stage and final tournament play-offs. San Pedro del Pinatar is a small town and municipality in the Region of Murcia, southeastern Spain. Eva Ulrika Nyström (; born 29 November 1999) is a Finnish footballer who plays as a centre-back for West Ham United in Women's Super League and the Finland national team. Oona Ilona Sevenius (born 28 April 2004) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Damallsvenskan club Rosengård. She is seen as one of the most promising Finnish players.
