Filmfare Marathi Awards
The Filmfare Marathi Awards are presented annually to both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Marathi cinema, Marathi film industry of India. The ceremony had been sponsored by various private organisations in the past as well as in present provisions. During several years in 1990s, a live ceremony was broadcast to television audiences but was later discontinued for unknown reasons. In 1963 the awards were extended to Marathi cinema, Marathi, Tamil cinema, Tamil, Telugu cinema, Telugu and Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali languages. Mahesh Ambar Kothare (Marathi pronunciation: əɦeːʃ koʈʰaːɾe born 28 September 1953) is an Indian film actor, director and producer of Marathi and Hindi films. He is regarded as a revolutionary figure in the Marathi film industry, known for his contributions to comedy, fantasy, and technical innovation. Kothare started his acting career as child artist in ''Chhota Jawan'' and acted in well-known Hindi movies such as ''Chhota Bhai'', ''Mere Laal'', and ''Ghar Ghar ki Kahani''. Nishikant Kamat (17 June 1970 17 August 2020) was an Indian filmmaker and actor. His debut film, ''Dombivali Fast'' earned him accolades in Marathi cinema, as it went on to become the biggest Marathi film of the year. He remade his film, in Tamil with R. Madhavan in the lead as '' Evano Oruvan'', which opened to rave reviews. He also acted in the Marathi film ''Saatchya Aat Gharat''. Shrabani Deodhar is an Indian film director and screenwriter who won the National Film Awards, National Film Award for her very first project, the 1993 Marathi language feature film ''Lapandav''.
