Federico Fernández (footballer)
Federico Fernández (; born 21 February 1989) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Fernández began his career at Estudiantes de La Plata, where he reached the final of the Copa Sudamericana and won the Copa Libertadores, before moving to Napoli in 2011. He was used sparingly by the Serie A club, and spent time on loan at Getafe, before joining Swansea City in 2014. He played for Newcastle United from 2018 to 2022. Fernández made his full international debut in 2009 and has since earned over 30 international caps, scoring three goals. He was part of the Argentine squad which reached the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final. Early life Fernández was born February 21, 1989, in Tres Algarrobos, a town in the province of Buenos Aires. Fernández has Italian origins: his maternal great-grandfather was a native of Lacedonia, in the Province of Avellino. As a result, he has an Italian passport. Federico Fernández Senderos (born 29 March 1968 in Nopalucan, Mexico) is an equestrian showjumper. He represented his country in the 2004 Summer Olympics in both the individual and team jumping events. In 2006, he competed in the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games (again, both the individual jumping and team jumping events). Federico Fernández Cavada
Federico Fernández Cavada (July 8, 1831July 1, 1871) was an officer in the Union Army during the American Civil War and a diplomat, as well as commander-in-chief of all the Cuban forces during Cuba's Ten Years' War. Because of his artistic talents, he was assigned to the Hot Air Balloon Unit of the Union Army. From the air he sketched what he observed of enemy positions and movements. On April 19, 1862, Fernández Cavada sketched enemy positions from Thaddeus Lowe's ''Constitution'' balloon during the Peninsular Campaign in Virginia. At the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was captured during the Battle of Gettysburg and sent to Libby Prison for Union officers in Richmond, Virginia.
