Fatwa On Terrorism
The Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings is a 600-page (Urdu version), 512 page (English version) Islamic book by scholar Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri which demonstrates from the Quran and Sunnah that terrorism and suicide bombings are unjust and evil, and thus un-Islamic. The book was published in London. The English edition was published in the UK by Minhaj-ul-Quran Publications. Qadri released the book on 2 March 2010. This fatwa is a direct refutation of the ideology of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. It is one of the most extensive Islamic anti-terrorism rulings, an "absolute" condemnation of terrorism without "any excuses or pretexts" which goes further than ever and declares that terrorism is kufr under Islamic law. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri (; born 19 February 1951) is a Pakistani Canadians, Pakistani–Canadian Islamic scholar and former politician who founded Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Pakistan Awami Tehreek. Born in West Punjab, Pakistan, Qadri has served as a professor of international constitutional law at the University of the Punjab. He also served as a Jurisconsult, jurist consult (legal advisor) on Islamic law for the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Supreme Court and the Federal Shariat Court, Federal Shariah Court of Pakistan. Additionally, he has worked as a specialist adviser on Islamic curricula for the Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Federal Ministry of Education of Pakistan and is the founding chairman of several sub-organizations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. ''Amanpour'' (stylized as ''Amanpour.'') is a global affairs interview television program hosted by British-Iranian journalist Christiane Amanpour, airing weeknights 6pm GMT/ 1pm ET & 7PM CET on CNN International. Fatwas
A fatwa (; ; ; ) is a legal ruling on a point of Islamic law (sharia) given by a qualified Islamic jurist (''faqih'') in response to a question posed by a private individual, judge or government. A jurist issuing fatwas is called a ''mufti'', and the act of issuing fatwas is called ''ifta. Fatwas have played an important role throughout Islamic history, taking on new forms in the modern era. Resembling ''jus respondendi'' in Roman law and History of responsa in Judaism, rabbinic ''responsa'', privately issued fatwas historically served to inform Muslim populations about Islam, advise courts on difficult points of Islamic law, and elaborate substantive law. Islamic Terrorism
Islamic terrorism (also known as Islamist terrorism, radical Islamic terrorism, or jihadist terrorism) refers to terrorist acts carried out by fundamentalist militant Islamists and Islamic extremists. Since at least the 1990s, Islamist terrorist incidents have occurred around the world and targeted both Muslims and non-Muslims. Most attacks have been concentrated in Muslim-majority countries, with studies finding 80–90% of terrorist victims to be Muslim. London Declaration For Global Peace And Resistance Against Extremism 2011
On 24 September 2011, Minhaj-ul-Quran organised a major "Peace for Humanity Conference" at Wembley Arena in London at which, under the auspices of Pakistani Islamic scholar Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, its 12,000 attendees announced a global declaration denouncing racism, interfaith intolerance, extremism and terrorism. Minhaj-ul-Quran strategist Joel Hayward wrote the declaration text for Qadri and was its second formal signatory after Qadri himself. Senior Al-Azhar University leaders and dignitaries then signed it before Minhaj-ul-Quran opened it up via the internet for public signing. They aim to get one million signatures within a year. Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) () is a global non-governmental organization (NGO) founded by Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in 1980 in Lahore, Pakistan. With its headquarters located in Lahore, MQI has expanded its operations to over 100 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the United States, Canada, and Australia. International network Minhaj-ul-Quran Pakistan MQI organised the Annual Milad Conference which was held at Iqbal Park, Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore. The Al-Azhar University ( ; , , ) is a public university in Cairo, Egypt. Associated with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Islamic Cairo, it is Egypt's oldest degree-granting university and is known as one of the most prestigious universities for Islamic learning.
